Does an LPBIN actually save that much space? It looks like it's just as big

@AnthonyI If I didn’t have 3 animals I would most definitely get several of the LPBIN2’s to create a record store feel

@scotthilk , believe me, that's been a very appealing thought. While I can't go full blown yet, I know that in time I'll have the space to do it and would rather start picking up the LPBIN2's.............we'll see :)

Don't think twice, buy a 5x5 Kallax, you will need more shelves soon anyway.

@bdm105, it actually holds more albums in the same "space" technically. Its just in a different configuration, the LPBIN2 holds approx. 560 albums, but current 4x4 Kallax is at about 800ish minus the one bin, but takes up an entire wall. The LPBIN takes up half the wall space, but does come out into the room a little more, and of course you're going to the all to familiar record store flip feel ;)

I may be in the minority here but I don’t like the record store flip bin look very much! My dream setup has mostly shelf storage and then one section on top for flipping for my new arrivals.

I agree with @MikeH. It looks nice but it takes a lot of place and is not really convenient IMO. It may technically hold 560 but if you want to flip the records easily, you can't fill the upper side.

Just bouncing around ideas at the moment trying to buy some time, lol. I've thought about the "New Arrivals" & "to be cleaned" bins as well, just trying to find the best way to use the space available.

IMO it will depend on how big you expect your collection to grow. How many records did you purchase this year approximately (you don't have to lie to us, we are all addicts here)?

LOL, actually I've been really good. I've been purging a lot of albums that are marginal in terms of liking/spinning because of space, I've also been really good at pulling in my purchasing, the quality over quantity has worked really well, I think I picked up a little over 100 albums this past year, which is a far cry from my 2+ per day average from a few years back, lol

Actaully @Skalap , that's a good way of going about this as I think about it. My wants are pretty small now a days and then there are some upgrades I want to make, so the growth might not be as big as I'm thinking, Hmmm.......

@AnthonyI that's what we ALL say. Fast forward a year from now and our collections have grown by 100+ records haha. I designed some plans for a custom record cabinet that my dad was going to try to build in retirement but I think he gave up haha. One day I'll make it happen!
