Grammys finally catching up to my extremely correct take that indie rock isn't dead it's just the best of it is being made by women

Expected the Taylor Swift album to be nominated and win the moment it was announced.

Idk @sahomerrocks, the Grammys acknowledging indie rock is proof that it is dead imo. Agreed with the second part of your post tho.

@Woob_woob The grammys need indie rock more than indie rock needs the grammys, so I will disagree with you. Grammys haven't had their finger on the pulse of thriving music cultures/genres in years, if ever.

Thats exactly my point. They don't have a pulse let alone their finger on one, so anything they pick is probably dead as well.

My point is that the grammy noms don't mean anything at all, let alone that a genre is dead. Imo indie rock is stronger, better and more diverse than it's ever been.

The majority of this forum feels that way, so its no surprise you do too. Indie rock has its moments (Phoebe is fantastic), but as a genre its as boring as the Grammys.
