I discovered a lot of new music/artists this year...Myrkur, A.A. Williams, Nation of Language, Westerman, Hachiku, Gordi, Fenne Lily, TOPS, Porridge Radio and SAULT to name just a few...
Right on, I'll start a playlist with your suggestions that I don't know, like Myrkur, A.A. Williams and Hachiku. From Nation of Language (in my top 10 of 2020) through SAULT I dig. Porridge Radio also a top 10 album of 2020 for me.
@scotthilk I'm working backwards. I noticed his 2020 album way up there on metacritic in summer, had never heard of him, checked it out, and was blown away. I have also listened to Deportation Blues a lot, and I'm gonna dig into How To Die In The North next.
@scotthilk Shortly After Take Off is absolutely amazing imo - but some might find it scattered and too quirky. I feel like the decisions he makes in crafting songs are just so intriguing and perfect for the soundscapes he's creating. Lyrics are crazy and endearing at same time.
This song is in my head all the time. Whenever I take a break, have lunch, whatever, and then actually need to get back to work, I hear the chorus. My favorite on the album for sure.
@Hollywood I listened to all the bands you listed above who I wasn't already familiar with. Thanks again! I am most impressed with the Hachiku album. Really interesting music, and an extremely promising debut album! I'll be listening to this album more and following her career.
@blenoxsmith Been spinnin' some BC lately! I think my favorite is his first album, followed by his newest. The middle two are just OK to me. Thanks for the intro!
Yeah! I saw that on insta, and I was thinking of jumping in this thread to let you know! Do you know if they are exclusive to UK or US lists? I didn't review the lists.
