Hahaha! That’s actually what I’ve just sold on eBay! I’d had the HDMI mod done years ago but it’s been sat under the bed in my spare room for 2 or 3 years now. Got €400 for it with a couple of games

Yeah @Hollywood I'm going back to college and fancy a new laptop. On top of the N64 for €400 I sold an old iPad and Mac Mini for €350 to a cash converters store. Still have my current MacBook Pro, an iMac and a Wii that I’m hoping to shift!

Yeah the mod wasn’t cheap when I had it done but it seems to quadruple the value of thing! They’re selling for €100-€150, even with the games, for just a standard one!

I though that myself @folsom_lives but then it looks crap on a modern large screen and the HDMI mod does a fantastic job but it’s still not quite right. Plus I’m finding that I increasingly just don’t enjoy computer games as much anymore...

I still have a 10 year old LCD that does OK with old inputs but my nostalgia sometimes deceives me into thinking some of the games looked better than they actually did.

Yeah I only have the 55 HD in the living room now, no other tele’s in the apartment and my nostalgia for films and games is dimming, they all seem to just have aged badly to me! I think all my nostalgia lies in books and music

I think I have a Mac in my basement from each generation going back to the PowerBook 2400. Someone give me a pile of money.

I had a go at making the RetroPi a few years ago, mostly playing NES, SNES and Megadrive games, I'm sad to say the novelty wore off after a couple of hours. Probably because I couldn't even get past Marble Zone on Sonic...I just don't have the patience for it these days unless it's something like GTA or RDR where you can ignore the missions and just do whatever you feel like.

I just flipped an iPhone 5c bought at auction for $3 for $39 on eBay. Next going up are sealed Realistic 'metal' C60 tapes at $10 each (got 6 of them yesterday).

@Selaws if I had a house rather than an apartment and had a full room as a dedicated “Joe zone” I might get an old CRT to hook a couple of old consoles too and would pick up another unmodded one up for €100. As it was €400 (albeit with a €150ish mod done to it) for something that was gathering dust under the bed in my spare room is too hard to turn down.

Totally get you! Space is a premium in my place as well, its getting to the point where I will have to do a similar thing and see if there's anything that I can get rid of.

What course you doing Joe?

My big decision is what to do with my old tech - I currently have 2 Amigas, a Gamecube, a Dreamcast, a PS3 and a PS4 that I need to work out what to do with. Can't be bothered with the faff of selling on eBay! Tempted to get a decent PC and just emulate it all. "It's not the same", but it's a damn sight smaller...

Yeah I have my brother my old PS3 for his birthday so that he can use it to watch the football on my sky go! The things we do for our younger siblings lol!

Ive kept my GameCube but that’s about it, looking move on the wii and the SNES classic before too long. I just don’t find myself reaching for them anymore!
