What happened?

I was listening to Graffiti Bridge and it started skipping. A lot of them ended up in stacks in cars over the years. I take better care of the ones I get now but they seemed indestructible back in the day - especially compared cassettes or vinyl, even.

100% I want to go through a clean and restore process. DJ'ing in college definitely did some damage. If you have a recommended cleaning system please let me know.

Same here. I always had stacks of them in my car and a lot of them got scratched. I don't really play them anymore but there are a few artists or albums that I only have on CD... No streaming, no vinyl

I was that guy with the giant cd booklet in the car and held them on edges to not touch bottom. But I’m still ocd about almost everything in life. I knew so many ppl who just threw cds without cases into the glove box

@Delta Don - same. I stopped letting friends borrow CDs if they brought them back scratched, which didn't make me too popular!

I mean car CD players and the cheapos I grew up with didn’t seem to care. I had actually thought my CD player had stopped working well at one point. It was just that I kept putting fucked up cds in it.

Turns out my moderately not bargain CD player is more sensitive than the things I grew up with.
