According to NFL Red Zone they supposedly took crowd noise from NFL Films and sounds were matched up to each venue. Though Detroit games are usually not that loud and at least 50% Bears fans so it didn’t feel wholly accurate. Also BEAR DOWN! That game was tough to watch.
The Detroit Lions announced today that Ford Field will not have fans at their first two home games against the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints this season
The only team that had a real live crowd today at like 30% capacity was Jacksonville where Menchu mania was in full effect! Every other crowd is virtual crowd noise.
Virtual crowd noise is wrong and weird. They’ve been doing it on the football since they came back after lockdown. 10 mins into the first match I watched i figured out how to turn it off, the world was much better for It.
Virtual crowds are ridiculous. However, I'm not sure I could watch sports with no crowd noise. It's already weird enough. I at least want it to sound like a normal game on my TV.
Honestly it sounds much more fake and ridiculous to me with an out of sequence oooooh or a booo or a random chant that was last used 4 years ago breaking out. The ground is empty right now, let’s not sugar coat it with fakery.
It's terrible @Joe Mac, it was the same constant crowd noise and they would kick up the volume a bit after scores, or obvious "Big Plays". I mean there was an interception late in the 4th that started the Bears come back and it was like an Xbox game crowd noise, lol
Agreed. Seriously no shade on Lions fans but Ford Field never sounds that rawkus. I don’t know if you watch much baseball or basketball but ilI thought for the most part they have done a good job with the faux crowd noises.
@AnthonyI I'll admit NFL sounds a bit weird. The main sport I watch is baseball which uses more of just an ambient crowd noise that sounds fine to me. I still say no crowd at all would sound worse.
