Folklore is fine. I think if anyone other than Swift made an album of this ilk it would be warmly received but not fawned over. I applaud her for trying something different. That being said, I prefer Swift making Pop music. I would take “Shake It Off 2.0” to anything on Folklore.

...Also, Waxahatchee’s Saint Cloud is a better album.

Obviously this is just my opinion. I am happy that others are really enjoying it. Different strokes for different folks.

The album is "warmly received" in fact it's critically acclaimed. It has a metacritic score of 95 and is a must hear album on AOTY.

Happy for those who are happy with it.
It barely does anything interesting as often times it happens at the end of the song or never progresses last a certain point. All the other ingredients are not interesting enough for a re listen.
I think she got some good help for a new direction but it wasn’t a good fit with her style and writing.

Different strokes for different folklore. You totally missed that softball, thought you should know.

I did count two F bombs on this one. I don’t recall her being much of curser on previous albums. They need to slap a Parental Advisory sticker on this bad boy.

I think there’s more than that! On one song, I think she even says something like “mouthf-$& you forever?” I’d have to look at the lyrics. Either way, we’re playing the clean edit on Spotify when children are present

Yeah LOL. I think she is saying Mouth the words “fuck you” forever, Not “mouthfuck you” as in Fellate. I had to think about if for a second as My initial reaction was it was almost LDR level of dirty.

These are the lyrics from "mad woman"
Do you see my face in the neighbor's lawn?
Does she smile?
Or does she mouth, "Fuck you forever"?

I feel like this choice of phrasing was intentional

Seriously, my jaw dropped when I initially heard it, not in so much of a prudish manner but just shock that she would choose “mouthfucked”, which is about the most bold of a choice as one could make to describe such an act. Rappers are less brash.
