I can't help you with the record shops but when I was there a few years ago to see the Giants v Padres we went to a great bar right across from PetCo called Fairweather Bar pregame. Also - Crack Shack for fried chicken in Little Italy!

Not sure about record shops but I had the the greatest Mexican food in my life there. Forget the name but it is out of this world.

I just checked out Spin Records in Carlsbad today - it’s between LA and SD. Really great small record shop.

I’m from Carlsbad! Another record shop I spent a ton of time at in my youth is Lou’s Records in Leucadia (a small beach town between Carlsbad and Encinitas).

Good Mexican food is abundant there, but I love the Old Town Mexican Cafe, and Fidel’s also. Good seafood kinda close to the park is The Fish Market. Delicious,

I saw Lou’s when I was looking up record stores in this area. Looks like there’s a shop in Oceanside too.

Huh, the O’side shop must be new-ish. Lou’s used to be in two buildings, the “new” side, and the “used” side. Since buying online has taken over, they consolidated their inventory about 10 years ago and now just occupy the used side.

I just love Carlsbad, if I could afford to live there still, I would.

Wow thanks everyone for all the great recommendations on shops and food! It will be my first time in San Diego and my GF and I are super excited.

@Sonicpharmacist really excited to go to Petco Park tonight. I've heard incredible things about your stadium. Any signature food in the park that is a must have?
