It’s weird they would want to use that over the one that protects them. Which makes me think you need to protect yourself by using the other one

Yeah, they don't save any money doing it that way. It just saves you a couple bucks. Beware.

@Mather @mcherry I'd be selling the album. They mentioned venmo or paypal and didn't balk when I said a number double what the highest price of discogs is. They could pay friends and family with a credit card then do a charge back. So not worth the risk.

Sounds super sketchy to me.

Yeah unless you're protected don't do it. There is literally no reason for them not to use PayPal, it doesn't cost the buyer anything...

Idk what a more protected way would be other than paypal friends and family

Correct me if I'm wrong but there's no protection for friends and family. There's only protection if you're the seller and he's the buyer. I think...

That's what I thought but another group told me they could still use a credit card with friends and family then do a charge back

Yeah exactly, there's no protection for YOU on friends and family. That's why they likely want to go that route rather than the usual PayPal buyer/seller transaction where you both have protection... again... I THINK...

They haven't suggested that route. I was just brainstorming ways I could protect myself
