I don’t think it’s a thing, it’s just off the top of my head! I was lucky that my brother got me the 21 box set (well gave me the money I put towards it) for my 30th which is what my Dad bought me my turntable for. It was like €120 for the first 6 in that box (Magic Whip hadn’t come out then). One of my best vinyl purchases.
Haha well it was a good one Joe lol. Oh thats cool. I did look into that boxset but it worked out cheaper to buy most of them separately on Amazon and then a couple through discogs. I'm definitely a bigger Oasis fan and was more patient collecting all those on vinyl but i do really love blur so was like feck it just go for it and be done with it lol
Oh same here but I always loved blur too, refused to get caught up in the rivalry lol! I have 4 boxes for oasis, Dig Out Your Soul from before I had a table and the 20th of the first three. Against all logic the Be Here Now box is the most valuable of the four, by a distance, I think it’s the second most valuable thing I have on Discogs!
My friend was kind enough to give me his OG dig out your soul boxset he too bought that before owning a table himself. I seen how expensive Be Here Now box was before and its crazy I couldnt understand it. Was it more limited or something?
I don’t think so. They made far too many of Definitely Maybe, tower couldn’t sell them at the time and split them up into bits. I found Morning Glory the hardest to get hold of, nowhere in town had it,
I had to get it ordered in! Randomly that’s the lowest value of the three on cogs. Be Here Now there weren’t hundred In the store but I was able to walk in and buy on release day, I’d thought that was where they’d got the balance right. So who knows
Thats crazy lol. Unless Be Here Now has an underground popularity we are all totally impartial to and unaware off lol at least you got them I just have the standard 2lp represses. Haven't spun much oasis mind I really should
Hahaha yeah, I had the table by then and there was no way I was letting them go! I think you do alright, I’ve been buying some of the later ones recently but I really do need to go back and spin the clsssics again soon!
BTW this is my all time vinyl white whate. Back in 1998 I had the money saved but my dad refused to swap it for a cheque to mail order it because who even had a turntable, never mind collected vinyl
Oooh nice. I didnt even know this existed. I think someday you should just say feck it and go for it. Like a special occasion purchase perhaps a milestone birthday when did you start collecting vinyl? I started late. 2014 @Joe Mac
Hahaha! I have a few very expensive things in my want list and I do have the 2x12” of it, not saying no though...
So I got a table for my 30th in May 2013, but I started buying seriously that January because me and my dad had a drunken chat Christmas 2012 in which it was decided he was buying me a turntable for my 30th
Oh ok so a few months before me then. I've always been a cd vhs dvd bluray etc collector.i had so many cassettes when I was young i regret gettin rid of them once I upgraded to cd now. I actually had some vinyl as a kid too when I lived im my grandparents house. @Joe Mac
When I decided to go vinyl again in 2014 it was my grandfather who gave me his player until I bought my own which I only bought last summer with your help so thank you ❤ its not a choice I regret at all I really love and enjoy vinyl but I do need to start limiting my spend its so addictive @Joe Mac
Oh yeah definitely. I used to read a lot when I was younger but I did a second degree 29-32 and almost 5 years on and my love for reading hasn’t returned, I’ve always bought silly amounts of music though. This past 4 or 5 months I’ve got much better at targeting what I want rather than what i think I should have, II’m not spending any less mind
