They are overworked understaffed and underfunded right now. My Post Office told me media mail can take anywhere from 5 to 15 days now or longer. More people are shopping online instead of going to stores. I don't see it getting better anytime soon...Trump/Republicans want to privatize the post office which will be bad for just about everybody. Good luck shipping a record for under $4 if that happens...

Same here. Media mail is basically 3-4 weeks at this point. I’ve had a couple exceptions where it was faster, but I don’t think anything arrived by the initial date they posted.

My Informed Delivery is also real screwy. I've had multiple items saying they would be delivered only for nothing to show up and for it to go back to "unknown delivery date". This has happened a lot lately. I'm not surprised but just a bit annoying. I think media mail is probably getting lowest priority (as it should) but since we've been in lockdown, I've been trigger-happy on a lot of records haha

It's been awful. I just got a record I ordered off of Discogs yesterday that shipped 6 weeks ago. And that was coming from Brooklyn, which is a bit over an hour drive from me....
That's obviously an extreme example but everything I've ordered has taken way longer, and sometimes sat in the same location for 1 week+.

Glad to hear it's not just me. I've had 2 records sitting in the distribution center for 10 days now with no updates. One is a Mach Hommy vinyl. so naturally it's added more stress to the situation. To make matters worse 3 vinyl have since passed them in very fast fashion Had to file a claim on both today

Boo the Usps. We should allow third parties the option to deliver mail. Usps has lost 69 Billion since 2007. I’m not a republican and this isn’t political. It’s aimed directly and solely at the Usps.

@Delta Don there are tons of issues involved with privatizing mail though...I'm fine with adding third parties delivering mail but the USPS needs to be kept around.

Well, clearly I'm not alone in this...I didn't think I was though.

I ordered six items from six sellers recently, all via Media Mail, and the longest took 8 days to arrive. All private sellers.
