I have such a love/hate relationship with Adam Sandler. I truly believe he can be a really funny guy when he tries, but he hasn't tried in a long, long time. At least not comedically. His performance in the Netflix film The Meyerowitz Stories was incredible (even if the movie itself dragged a bit).
That said, I'm sure much of his 90s work that is beloved by many hasn't aged well and is more of a nostalgia soft spot for a lot of people. I can turn off my brain and enjoy them, but I won't pretend they're masterpieces.
