What's Spinning

here's an odd one for late night

single-sided, 1 track, 22-minute, deeply zooted 90's solo ambient psych guitar that sounds a bit like a cross between windy & carl and wilburn burchette. i've wanted to hear this record for a long time, since learning about it from the old waxidermy blog (any 'dermists cross over here btw?), and have been on the lookout for it for a good decade or so. i figured i'd never find it—it's limited to 250, has no cover or center label, hasn't sold on discogs since 2017, and seems to have disappeared into the cloudy memories of a few orange county stoners.

lo and behold, it shows up at my local last week! while it's not the greatest record in the world—I really like it though!—moments like this are what really delight me in this hobby. the shop clerk and i agreed (after she asked me if i was sure i wanted to buy it without listening to it first 👀) that the hand of fate was behind this acquisition.
