Sutherland 20/20 Load and Gain Settings

We set everything up when we moved in back in January of 2020. The Vandersteen instructions tell you how to measure the room, as I assume you know since you recommended the Vandersteens to us back in 2018, and we have them placed in the proper place to counter nodes. We love the Vandersteens...

Sutherland 20/20 Load and Gain Settings

We purchased our Vandersteens in 2018. They do not have power to them, so I am assuming they have a passive radiator?

By rear facing passive radiators, are you talking about the vandersteens?

I wonder why I would need one? My husband is saying the weakest link in our system now is the filter, but at the same time, it's what is making it work.

Sutherland 20/20 Load and Gain Settings

Quick question: Does anyone have a Sutherland and NOT have a subsonic filter, whether it be built into the subwoofer or integrated amp or preamp?

Update on the status: I a/b compared the Sutherland hooked into the $25 filters from Amazon with the pro-ject tube box, and the improvement was noticeable with the Sutherland. The KAB came in yesterday, and I hooked it up. Holy smokes! It's flawless now. Huge increase in openness going from...

Sutherland 20/20 Load and Gain Settings

I have a question. I'm not terribly well versed on these things, and so I was hoping to get some insight. From the KAB website: "When the stereo stylus moves vertically, the two signals produced are equal and 180 degrees out of phase. Therefore, below 140Hz, the music is in phase in the...

The plug style low filters came in the mail yesterday. No more rumble and only slight degradation of sound. I had also purchased the KAB, so I'm really looking forward to trying out the nicer filter.

That's good to know. I will reach out and see if they can assist. Alternatively, does anyone know anything about this device (link to site below image)? http://www.kabusa.com/frameset.htm?/rf1.htm

Looking into this as a backup option. I have 60 days to return the 20/20 and go another route. We'll, 50 now.

Hmm... I'll hang on to my optimism for now, but I certainly won't lie to myself if it degrades the sound in a noticeable way. I'll certainly report back with my findings. It's so disappointing because I was very excited to get a 20/20.

I went ahead and purchased the in-line subsonic filters that were mentioned by kvetcha. We did not have this issue with the TubBox. Hopefully, that makes a positive difference.

The turntable is a good 10 feet from the nearest speaker. Also, I have the ultradeck on a marble slab, and the marble slab is on top of a foam drawer liner sheet. When I knock on the cabinet that the turntable is on, you don't hear it through the speakers. So it seems to me to be isolated...
