My stylus is due for a replacement. Currently using a Shure M97xe - no longer manufactured. I have read great things about the JICO SAS replacement stylus for Shure carts, but it is pretty pricey at about $285 for the 97xe. Worth the cost? Something else I should steer toward?
Thanks!
Just pulled the trigger on eBay for an Oppo DV-980h that can play SACD and DVA-Audio. It is capable of outputting DSD over HDMI to my AVR receiver. I also have a Rasberry Pi and HiFiBerry DAC HAT in the mail. Hoping to improve my streaming quality and dusting off some CD's!
Anyone have any thoughts on Parasound amps? I am considering the 2125 v.2 to power two pairs of speakers and maybe eventually pairing it with a Schiit Freya + preamp.
I was thinking about the Allo Digione Signature Player? Looks like they have apparently solved a lot of the issues of getting the sound from the Pi to a good standalone DAC.
Happy Quarantine to everyone!
So I have done a foolish thing and bought a house...I am thinking of using that as an excuse for some audio upgrades!!
I will have one stereo zone in the living room / kitchen open area, and another outside on the deck.
What would you fine people suggest...
Ok thanks! Sounds like it is an avenue I am not quite ready to explore yet! Makes sense to save it down the line as a potential future upgrade. I guess what always confused me was where along the chain the conversion was taking place. So really for a DAC to be beneficial from a streaming...
That sounds perfect. I have been using a decade old budget home theater A/V receiver, and streaming Spotify via an old Apple TV or PS4 (HDMI), and I feel like something is missing (mostly on the streaming end). I feel like a new amp would upgrade both sources while providing a simpler solution...
