Hot Take/ Musical Confession Thread!

I mean, my wife and I have tried watching him at two separate festivals where he was headlining (because she actually likes some of his music) but both times we left after maybe 20 minutes because it was mind-numbingly boring.
Just curious about when this was, because I did see him at Bonnaroo before gkmc came out and it was underwhelming. However I've seen him twice since then and he was great both times, especially on the Damn tour.

One of the times WAS the Coachella set when he was promoting Damn and then a couple of years before that at FYF in L.A. I think my main issue is that he's just one guy on this huge stage, and I don't like him much to begin with, so he doesn't hold my attention. It would be like if Beyonce's Coachella performance was only her, without the band and the dancers and all of that.

I mean on that damn tour he hand sword fighters, dancers, ninjas, etc... on stage and from everything I've heard it was the same show he premiered at Coachella that year, so I dont agree that it was just one guy on a huge stage, but even in the moments it was just him up there he was incredible imo.

I fuck with "Jeopardy," "Early," "Love Again," and "Angel Duster," but dont care for the rest of RTJ2. All of RTJ's stuff has a habit of only being occasionally interesting for me. I think the first one holds my attention the most out of all three.
Love Again is definitely my favourite track on Run The Jewels 2! I love that song with a passion! 😋

J Cole is so boring
I think Cole is more talented than what his music displays. I think he can rap, but I am not the biggest fan of his beats/production value. I like a select few songs from him, but not full albums. I actually like his mixtapes he dropped when he started out more than his studio albums.

J Cole is so boring
I couldn’t agree more. J. Cole is very boring and has never come close to releasing a great album in my opinion. I only love three songs by him - 1985, Neighbors & False Prophets.

I understand why J. Cole is very popular. I understand the appeal. But I think J Cole is a boring musician who has little creativity in his music. J Cole is too predictable.
