Let's See What Makes Your Vinyl Spin!

So the more I’m listening the more I’m utterly converted to subs, or more particularly these REL subs with their high level input direct from the amps speaker terminals. Not only is the bass better but the soundstage is deeper and it feels like by taking over the sub bass duties from the Lintons it has opened up their mids and highs and the whole thing is just sparkling. At €389 this thing was an absolute bargain (given the list price is £449 and my dealer has it listed as the previous mk2 on their website I may have unknowingly benefited from an acideal..) and I am absolutely going to be getting a second to make a stereo pair at some point down the line!
Welcome to Sub Club.

I need to ignore this conversation for a while, lol

Looks great Joe!

So I’ve had a bit of a reshuffle around in the music room…anyone want to see the before and after?

YES! Alrighty then…

Unit is an Atacama Evoque Eco 60-40 Special Edition, plus the usual kallax addition for additional storage. There is still shelving in the left hand side of the inglenook.

One downside of the hifi move to accommodate the Yamaha Clavinova is that I’ve had to get 8m runs of speaker cable and start the burn in process again. So there is going to be some 3m runs up for sale soon!

There are a couple of extra bits of artwork to go above the piano, and to tidy up speaker cable runs and then hopefully all done. Done at least until I start to add more kit…

Looks beautiful. So jealous of the Linn. Someday one will be mine :)

What gauge of speaker cable are you using for the 8m runs?

Team subs over here too. I've got a Revel B10 on both my systems, and I'm running the L100s that have 10" woofers of their own. But they still aren't going to be able to do the job of a dedicated 800 watt sub. This thing is seamless and just hits that much harder and deeper. I've always had subs in my systems and as long as they're technical and not boomy, I don't think you can go wrong.

EDIT- Also my room correction suite keeps the sub only operating in a very small window of frequencies, very low crossover point. Leaves the speakers open to worry about the details...
