Vinyl Me Please Essentials

Wait a second. Weren’t the initial “clues” mid 2000’s indie garage rock something something?
Another VMP thread?
People were asking for it and as I started the original one in the old forums I went ahead and started it. If any mods want to delete it, feel free.
If people were asking then :)
Really sorry everyone, but this is too many VMP threads. I'm sure it's possible to discuss swap options within the existing VMP ones. We already have 5??
Sure, if you want.

The fact is this isn't a VMP forum and we are not going to have it fill up with VMP threads. We've had loads of complaints about there already being too many!
There's currently 346 threads, and just five, or 1% dedicated to VMP? Now there's gonna be just one? It's hardly filled up with VMP threads.
The fact is, with the multiple tracks, the store, and now anthology, there are always going to be a need for multiple VMP threads. Can't we just get a VMP sticky in the Vinyl Clubs branch that then branches into it's own list of vmp threads? That way the people that don't want to see so many of those threads don't have to, and the ones that are looking for the information know where it is?

While I am still buying all things VMP, I don't think we need more threads, I said in another VMP thread I am guessing by the end of the year we will only need one maybe two VMP threads, many people have cancelled and therefore participation should drop and VMP will be just like any other vinyl club discussed on the forum. I get right now we are accustomed to multiple threads concerning VMP. I don't think we need to go the nuclear route now and combine threads but I really think that will be the future and should be. All my opinion of course.

I will honestly be surprised if there is ever a time that classics, hip hop, and essentials can be discussed without confusion in one thread

As I said I think participation in the threads will decrease and it won't be that hard, we are still a very VMP centric group but no longer being on a VMP forum and receiving less info about things to says less posts, others clubs/labels have a few things going on but we are able to keep up in their threads. It will take time but I really do think it will happen.

I think it's easier to ignore a thread or group of threads if your not interested instead of saying other people can't have threads they enjoy.

Love or hate VMP, that's where we all came from and that's what brought us together. Let there be threads and if they die over time so be it.

And if we all find another source we like better than VMP let those threads expand.

Ummm not sure where to post this ... but when did they get rid of the one month memberships?

Have put myself on wait list for Phoenix & OutKast but unlikely either of these will get through the ROTM list and beyond...

@AngryVal , this is not meant as a snarky answer I swear, but honestly, if anyone has a question about stuff like this shouldn't it be directed to info@vinylmeplease.com??

I think that is a fair question to ask here, asking a technical question maybe should be handled by VMP, I won't be doing trouble shooting for them anymore, but asking a when did this happen or when did they do that

@Enoch I understand that, and I'm not pretending that as a community we can't help each other out with this type of information, but on the other hand, shouldn't VMP subscribers contact them so that VMP knows they're not happy with that change? Granted, I know that sort of stuff falls on deaf ears over there, but I still think the effort should be made.

That is very interesting.

When I think of Phoenix, I don't think of the drums at all.

Super cool and the coincidence of it all is hilarious as well.
Oh man, he is just a machine live and a big part of the reason why I love Phoenix so much live. If you get a chance check out his drumming on Lasso or Armistice

@AnthonyI All cool - I don't want customer support, I just wanted to see when this happened as I picked up De La Soul a couple of months back. Won't be renewing membership so no point asking them - they are still on my shitlist.

@BjorgenFjorgen Thank you ☺
Again, it wasn't meant as snark, but in the grand scheme of things I can't help but feel we've giving VMP exactly what they wanted. Somewhere else for everyone to complain so they don't need to deal with it. Not my vision of what we wanted out of this forum. ;)
