Vinyl Me Please Essentials

I agree with this. I can't see the justification for multiple threads with any of the other vinyl clubs, but with VMP it simply makes sense especially since each of the threads is pretty active, a lot of the info would get lost in the sauce if everything VMP related ended up in one thread. If there was any reason to have multiple threads devoted to the other clubs would it not happen?
I’m inclined to agree with this argument. It’s one I have made in other threads. I think the poll may be the answer but I ask for everyone’s patience while we parse through everyone’s opinions.

It’s more about the Vinyl Clubs forum being dominated by VMP. I get that people disagree but right now we do have a lot of folks wishing all the VMP threads were combined into one, similar to the other clubs where all related club talk is in one thread. We are still discussing the possibility but we may decide to make a poll about this.
Hey you guys are in charge so feel free to do whatever you need.

The forum was created from the VMP community, and I know VMP has its lovers and haters here but I thought a dedicated swaps thread would still be helpful.

Even though this forum came from the VMP community, I'm sensing that it now serves its own purpose, and it's not really for the VMP community any more.

I don't want this discussion to turn into a fight between those who want more VMP threads and those who don't want to but I would like to remember that there was a VMP forum that they, VMP, decided to shut down and they gave us 48h to get the f*** out. Despite everything we said, despite the beautiful message @mcherry sent, they decided to shut the forum down. So our admins did an outstanding job to create this forum, the community helped with money and ideas and we now have this beautiful place. I don't mind to see a thread for each track, another for the Anthologies and another for exclusives. But I do mind to see that, after being insulted by VMP as a costumer and as a person, after reading the recent emails some of us have been receiving (taking advantage of VMP...), etc... we are helping and promoting their products and business. Again, I don't want a fight at all but I agree with our admins and think that 5 VMP threads are more than enough to discuss VMP products.

But isn't it easier for the person who isn't going to open the thread anyway to just ignore a "swaps" thead, instead of the people that are going to use it to navigate multiple conversations within one thread?

This feels like one of those "Against the war, not the soldiers" type of situations. Punish VMP, not the people still subscribed to it.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH MORE THREADS?!?

All of the threads have their own topic and completely different conversations. I can’t imagine the confusion of having all tracks in one thread. Is it that hard to ignore five threads on this message board? Shutting down valid discussions because people don’t like the subject is kinda lame. The VMP talk will die down a lot I think but let’s not ignore how this community came about and where it came from.

Are you asking me? I already expressed my pref for separate threads. Just trying to be open to all opinions right now.
