Irish is a form of Gaelic/Celtic language, there are a few others (Scots being the other main one but also Cornish and traditionally in elements of Bretton and Galician).
it’s nothing like French or any of the other Latin language, it’s pretty damn hard to learn because it has little relation to the major western language traditions, it’s a renaissance of an ancient language.
