For the seventh Interscope Vinyl Collective release, we are announcing EMINEM's The Slim Shady LP!
It wasn’t an album. It was a revolution. When Interscope head Jimmy Iovine played Dr. Dre an EP of a loudmouth battle rapper from Detroit named Marshall Mathers, Dre famously replied, “Find him. Now.” On The Slim Shady LP – Eminem’s major label debut – the rapper channeled more than 20 years of poverty, dead-end jobs, insults and “Get off the stage!” chants into one of the most influential and gleefully offensive albums ever recorded. “He’s a warp-speed human rhyming dictionary with LL Cool J’s gift for the killer dis,” Rolling Stone wrote at the time. “He doesn’t rap about the hustling high life; just minimum-wage jobs, high school beatdowns and decidedly ill drug dementia.”
“I dealt with a lot of shit coming up,” Eminem said at the time. “When it’s like that, you learn to live day to day.” With co-production by Dr. Dre, the album featured future classics like “My Name Is,” “Guilty Conscience” and “Just Don’t Give a Fuck,” which all melded circus-on-acid beats with Em’s unparalleled, tongue-twisting mastery of the English language.
The album would sell nearly 500,000 copies in its first two weeks and go on to sell more than 7.3 million copies in the U.S. alone, winning the Best Rap Album Grammy and transcending from mere album to cultural behemoth. There’s no better distillation of Em’s proclamation that “God sent me to piss the world off” than this right here.
This limited edition 3LP features a die cut, trifold jacket, alternative artwork, interchangeable sleeves, blue, green, and orange colored vinyl, and a fold out poster.

So basically this in color vinyl? https://www.discogs.com/release/14565842-Eminem-The-Slim-Shady-LP

yeah if I didn’t already have a copy I’d grab it. Kinda annoying they don’t include the track listing, which I’d assume is the same as that one
I’d rather have something like this for the Marshall Mathers LP. That one will never be topped in my eyes. I remember I had a burned copy of the cd before it even came out.

I

Really frustrating that these aren’t done with more care on the mastering/cutting side. I’m guessing XO will be using existing plates. Betty is being pressed at Turd Man
Interscope knows their catalog will sell regardless of whether it is an audiophile release or not. Not like many people who are seeking these out care about that other than the people on this sub.

Yea...people on reddit are complaining about the NIN pressing because it's not colored, alt artwork, etc. But it's a legit cut of it and pressed at Furnace. You're right that most people buying this stuff doesn't care about it. People are psyched about Betty on reddit since it has alt artwork, an etching, etc but its pressed at Turd Man...

Only thing that has interested me so far is the Eminem but I have a two kids so doubt I’d play that one too often.

Every pressing I've gotten has been great so far, but the Third Man thing has me not feeling good about Betty and that's the one I've been most looking forward to.

I did a 3 month starting with NIN and Betty was the one I was most excited for too…figure NIN I could give to a friend or sell at cost. Eminem I figured would sell out if I didn’t wanna keep it and could get my money back.

The CS is…weird for them. It’s through the third party Route app I think. Forget if I mentioned it here but I got a bad seam split on NIN. Emailed CS to just get a jacket replacement. they said they didn’t offer replacements and said they would refund me. They ended up refunding my entire 3 month sub but still sent Eminem…

Route only handles damage from "shipping" so if it's a pressing issue they wouldn't handle it. But they have a weird thing because it's an insurance policy and they only insure the full value of your purchase, so if they find in your favor you get the full refund even if it's only on one part of the order. Very strange but that's what they told me last time I had a claim through them.
