The football thread RenegadeMonster is looking for: NFL talk

I gotta give some credit to the Lions, they really have a knack for making NFL history sometimes.

Seriously though. I feel for Dan Campbell, they played hard enough to win aside from of course giving up a 50 yard chunk play at the end. But really if Goff doesn't fumble AND throw and INT in their territory maybe they would have had the lead for more than the last 37 seconds.

Yeah, I thought they were gonna pull it out. They have been so close, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before some of these heartbreaking losses turn to exciting wins.

I agree. I think the coaching staff is pretty good. There's a talent deficit on the field but that was known coming in. The Rams were likely happy to throw Goff in on the Stafford trade, but the meat of that trade is the two 1st round picks in the next two drafts. So, this is a rebuild. All the fans that are already upset with Campbell or Holmes aren't paying attention to the big picture of what needs to happen here.

With all that being said, they do have a flair for crazy, record setting losses no matter who has been in charge or on the field.

GRUDEN FIRED!
Technically I think he resigned.

Who woulda thought Calling the commissioner of the NFL a Fa**** and a pussy and then becoming a sub .500 head coach wasn’t a great move careerwise?

The strange part is that I bet if you reviewed the entire leagues, player, coaches, and front office private emails from 2011 to 2021 you would likely find so many racist/homophobic/misogynistic jokes and comments that, if held to this same standard; you would not have a league.

I am not excusing his actions but yeah it’s a much more of a locker room culture problem than the league is willing to admit.

But hey they released this commercial…

…so that should fix everything, right?

Certainly. It was the fact that he was dumb enough to have written these things down for posterity that cost him his job, not that he said those things

And at that, only because it was to the work email of someone at least as bigoted as him
Yup. If they weren’t already investigating the WFT for a boatload of toxic workplace culture issues none of this would have ever come out. Also, it’s absurd that they were emailing topless photos of women and one of the founders of Hooters was included on the email chain.

Yeah, the whole received coercion porn sanctioned by NFL team officials barely being talked about shows how messed up the whole thing is

Last year, the Bengals had 4 wins at season's end. This year? They notched the fourth win in Week 6 today.
Loved seeing this block by Ja'Marr Chase today:

Got a tough one next week on the road though, as they trounced a top AFC power today.

that was the most frustrating game in a while for the Browns, it all came together .. miscues, injuries and the refs...

i dont like their chances on thursday night with that many players injured
