“ ~ i get nervous sometimes ~” is the best sunny indie pop that Ohio could produce! This album is for fans of Hippo Campus, COIN, and Bombay Cycle Club. It’s hard to imagine these sun-soaked indie pop jams are from the Midwest! Coastal Club will continue to hit your ears with hook after hook after hook. This is an album of delicious ear-worms that will stay in your head all day long. Put this album on your turntable and watch your life get bright and sunny real quick.

The Queen City quartet of indie surf rockers was formed in 2017 by a group of friends looking to blend indie rock and pop with the surf music of the 60’s and 70’s. While based in landlocked Ohio, there is a longing for the coast found in their romantic, beachy melodies. Coastal Club has tirelessly played and continued to hone in on their unique sound. With the release of “ ~ i get nervous sometimes ~” we are presented with SIX brand new Coastal Club tracks and the vinyl specifically carries the tracks from their previous self-titled EP. Just as a special treat for the vinyl fans out there.

Soul Step Records will be releasing “~ i get nervous sometimes ~” by Coastal Club to Soul Step Record Subscribers on Saturday, September 5th. The general public sale will begin on Monday, September 7th.

Trying to see if I can get a copy of the Local Honey's and if they had some Fort Defiance's 7"s I would be interested.

Well it wasn't meant to be, I kept refreshing and hadn't saw it yet. Then refreshed and it was sold out.

Soul Step Records is proud to announce that we are partnering with our flagship artist, Matt Duncan, for a SEVENTH release through Soul Step Records. After successful releases, such as “Beacon,” “Free Music,” and “Soft Times,” we are bringing you two new tunes on a 45 single to be released on October 3rd.

Matt Duncan makes incredible R&B influenced indie pop that you and your parents both would love. Part Steely Dan and part Yacht rock. Matt has built an incredible grassroots fan base from his digital releases. His biggest track, “The Keys”, is clocking in with over 6 Million streams alone on Spotify. Clearly Matt Duncan’s music is touching a wide variety of people and making new fans everyday.

The A-Side of this 45 features a single dropped earlier called “Who Are You On Your Own.” As Christiania Bartolini from Indie Shuffle says, “If you were not aware that Matt Duncan is a modern musician, it would be easy to believe this track is decades old. Matt’s grasp of easy listening rock with tasteful chord progressions is certainly his specialty. The effortlessness of the song’s composition leaves you wanting more of where it came from. From the harmonic vocals to the funk filled bass and EPIC sax solo, this tracks is only the tip of the iceberg of what Matt Duncan has created.”

The B-Side features a brand new song called “State Bird.” This brand new track from Matt Duncan showcases a side of his production and songwriting that fans of “Free Music” will vibe with. Matt leans into some heavy synths to create something upbeat that is danceable, but is still something that you can put on your turntable and vibe out while listening to it.

Soul Step Records will be releasing Matt’s new 45 to Soul Step Record Subscribers on Saturday, October 3rd. The general public sale will begin on Monday, October 5th. “State Bird” will hit digital streaming services on Friday, October 2nd.

There will be a limited to 100 Hellfire Red vinyl variant in addition to the standard black vinyl. Soul Step Records highly encourages fans to sign up to be a Soul Step Subscriber for free, as many of our limited edition vinyl sell out very quickly.
