86 was a pretty stellar year - hard to go past the smiths at the top of the tree

some great antipodean albums from the likes of the triffids (two!!), hunters and collectors, crowded house, the go-betweens, nick cave and the bad seeds, paul kelly and the coloured girls, died pretty...
