I keep procrastinating getting that one since I have to import it to the States. Is there any news if they are doing more reissues soon?

The pre-remix Aoxomoxoa and Anthem are the way to go, Aoxomoxoa especially.

If it’s the same mastering as the ORG from years back then it actually sounds quite great. Probably the best sounding DJ album out there.

Very true but it’s being touted as the 10th anniversary reissue for some reason haha! Probably was going to come out last year but must have been pushed due to I,I

    The National

I’m thinking we will get another update shortly either saying they’re punting it another month or it’s going out for delivery. We will get something soon enough, hopefully.

Yep exact same thing happened with me with that record. I emailed them like 6 months after too and they said “oh thought we refunded everyone already. Sorry”.

I personally like the Music Matters pressings over the originals/earlier pressings but that’s just my opinion. It is fun to hear OGs though and it’s nice to have a piece of history in your hands. They’re just different. MMJ may have technically better mastering-wise which may or may not be what...

For what it’s worth, my Music Matters is the best I’ve ever heard the album. Better than the early mono even. I don’t think it will ever sound better, but then again I love the detailed MMJ sound.

Is your Liberty Blue Train mono or stereo? MMJ only released it in mono because I think that tape is one generation closer to the master perhaps? I prefer it in mono as well but the stereo is great too. I have a west coast label stereo Liberty, second press 50’s mono and MMJ. I think I’m done...

I’m under the impression that yes, it is continuing for the next few years along with the Tone Poet series. I think they’re just taking a break with releases and/or delays with production. I haven’t heard what the titles will be for the BN80 series this year yet though.

    What's Spinning

Gene Ammons All Stars- The Happy Blues I think Gene Ammons is incredibly overlooked, especially his early stuff. This album is a standout featuring Jackie McLean, the Farmer brothers, Duke Jordan, Art Taylor and Candido. Great early jam session recorded by Rudy Van Gelder in Hackensack circa...

Or she’s finally going to release a new album this year and is gearing up to reissue her back catalog and told VMP to pull their remaining stock and give it to her! (Wishful thinking...)

    The Blue Note Thread

I feel like every decade there has been a new reissue series of the classic Blue Note titles. I have to imagine that audiophile reissues on standard black aren’t too far off. MMJ will continue with their SRX vinyl and we will get regular vinyl. Possibly deluxe gatefolds again, but rather...

Yeah the only one I would really want is Speak No Evil, maybe Idle Moments but not at $75. I can find a Van Gelder copy for well under $50 if I’m patient enough.

They weren’t $75 until they jacked their prices. “People will buy them no matter how expensive they are” is what they should have said.
