  • Sushi, sake, and sacrilege. My kind of Wednesday night!
What does a mid-life crisis feel like? Asking for a...well....me. Haha

I'm really sorry to hear that @Aron . I do hope things improve for you sooner rather than later. It seems, for men at least, that mid-life crisis as a concept manifests in one of two ways: the first is the one you mentioned where you question the paths/choices/etc. taken in terms of how it relates to the world currently.

The second seems to be the "does any of it really matter" frame of mind where your question your own accomplishments and try to ascribe meaning to anything you have done that has previously seemed significant. I mean there is also the whole Momento Mori thing, but that has never really rattled me since I first started considering it in my earlier years. But hell, its a whole thing.

I cannot even fathom how it manifests for women seeing as how they are, as a general rule, much more deep and complex than men. Panic attack as a state of being seems much more appropriate for them. Big love to all the women out there dealing with the struggle.
Sitting here writing reports and watching my 2nd fave movie of all time, Magnolia! Paul Thomas Anderson can literally film people playing Scrabble for 3+hrs and I'll watch it.

That's fine. That's cool. It's good to rock out sometimes. But, you can't do it every day, or else you risk damaging your ears, seriously.

I just didn't like this movie. But I want to rewatch it with you by my side, giving commentary so that I get as enthused about it as you do.

@Teeeee you have a standing invite to my house ANYTIME! We shall make popcorn and watch it side-by-side. If I cannot turn you into a believer, nothing will! LOL. And if nothing else, we shall sing Aimee Mann songs

Don't mind me, I'm just over here listening to The Cosmic Trip Advisors and trying not to jam-dance in front of clients in this fancy office.
Soooo...what have I missed the past 3 weeks? Lol

SAAAAAME! No concept of time at all for me right now. I was surprised as hell that it was February already. Who knew??? Well, I guess the rest of the world knew. You and I, however, no idea. Thanks, that's one plus of the frequent travel. Great meals that I do not have to pay for :)

I’m currently on a plane that only has 30 passengers on board. I am now convinced we’re going to crash LOST style. Dibs on John Locke.
I just made a Spotify playlist for my friend's 12 y/o son who just got an account. She asked me to make him one. GODS do I love doing this. So far, 131 songs in (7hrs 32 min). This is what I spend my time doing :)
Yesterday was the 2nd hardest/longest/most frustrating day of 2019. I need a break, about 12 hrs of sleep, and a solid cocktail. Here’s to 2020, crew.

It’s been a year of us taking care of either elderly, addicted, or mental ill family members. Hardest day this year was when the wifi’s Mom passed, naturally. But yesterday a diff family member had a self harm episode that required 16hrs of us either being at the hospital and/or arguing with the ED medical director over proper care for someone with a serious mental illness.

I’m tired, I’m frustrated, I’m litigious (at this point), and just frankly over 2019.

That sucks dude. If you're in america, I feel like it's almost impossible to get mental health taken seriously. Even doctors fall into the, "well why can't you just FEEL better" mindset and don't want to accept that treatments that work for a neurotypical person may not be doable or effective for someone who isn't. Sorry you have to deal with that frustration.
re: Cheesy xmas movies on Amazon Prime. Start with Eve's Christmas. And then every recommendation the algorithm makes after that.

    Some reviews:

Eve's Christmas - entertaining enough until the very end with that HUGE plot gap. Sheesh.
Santa and Pete - James Earl Jones and Hume Kronye who is wildly miscast as Santa. This is not good. Not even for a Hallmark movie.
The Least of These - no name cast. Touching enough story.

Rooftop Christmas Tree - the guy looks like Scott Foley so much, I was distracted from the story
12 dogs of xmas - I'm not saying something does or does not happen to the dogs. But the implication is there and that is enough for me to have turned it off halfway through. Also, I am concerned that they have cast a corpse instead of a live human girl as the main character.
