Honestly they can be very good. When they get it right. But basically they are one of the biggest pressing plants in the world, and they pump out huge volumes of vinyl every month in massive quantities which is likely why VMP uses them for the ROTMs, Because they have to press like 30,000 copies of these records.

But their quality control isn't great, they have a lot of pressing problems from no fill to scratches to all sorts of others issues that affect the sound to warps etc. But because they press such huge quantities and so quickly these issues can effect large portions of the runs, and they don't seem to catch them very effectively.

They really aren't the worst plant by any stretch, but they definitely have a lot of issues that don't get caught during the pressing process... And because they press SO MANY of the major release records, their name is always front and centre. The main frustration for me is that they are capable of doing a really good job, but more often than not they screw it up somewhere in the process...

I think the bigger problem is what is deemed "acceptable" to ship out by GZ and other companies as well. The fact that an album can have an acceptable amount of warping is beyond me. Its one thing to not have your favorite music on vinyl because it's not available on the format, it's another when it's available but sounds terrible.

While we're talking Gz. I was thinking of swapping out Knxledge - Hud Dreems (depending on what the finished product comes out like) for Nihls Frahm - Spaces. I just noticed it was a GZ press so I was interested to hear how it sounds for you all if one of you grabbed it @duke86fan @AnthonyI @Sanders or even your inevitably warped copy @Mather

Uh, check the PIF thread. I think I have one of these on there. I can flatten it now. It sounds good but that pressing did have a lot of warp issues, and some cracking too I think.
