My pet hate is when you buy a second-hand record online that turns up in really bad shape and the seller's response is "Remember, the record is x years old, it's bound to have issues"......well don't list it as vg+ then!!!
Has anyone had issues with old outer-sleeve creating a gooey residue? I managed to remove a record sleeve from the gooey outer-sleeve but its left the whole thing sticky. I have used hot water and a dab of dish-soap (its a laminated cover) with no luck.
I bought Vol 2 of semi-rare Brit jazz album the other day for a fraction of its average price, and the seller messaged to say that he also had Vol 1 and would throw that in. Turned up today and they are fantastic, I can't quite believe how generous that was.
Gutted to say this but I just found out that the legendary Peter Ind passed away at the end of August. Ind was a bassist, producer, venue operator, author, the list goes on.
Just bought the rarest bundle of jazz records that I have ever bought. Im giddy right now. Going to clean them up before sharing photos here. The Blue Note, Sun Ra, Jazz threads might enjoy this one!
Thanks to everyone for a great August Challenge Thread! Its been a ton of fun and I look forward to taking part in the September Challenges that are hosted by @Turbo!
I listened to a few Greta Van Fleet songs today, as well as some live performances, and have to say that I really enjoyed it. Whats with all the hate they seem to get? Is it just because they sound like Led Zeppelin or is there more to it?
August was a great month for pianists. After Oscar Peterson's birthday yesterday, today would have been the birthday of both Bill Evans and Mal Waldron.
