They used to give cash. Now they do one of those choose your gift things full of ostentatious watches, weird globes, crystal glasses that can't hold a proper drink, and Bose headphones.
@RowBearToe - no idea what trickyseven is going to be working with, but I know some companies take 10 year marks very seriously. My GF's company has done Rolex watches and high end hand engraved rifles for various anniversaries while she's been there. I believe they try to keep it around a $5K gift and they avoid repeats for people at 20/30 etc.
@RowBearToe - Smaller company. Oil. Somewhat the traditional good ol' boy stereotype, but not like Mad Men or anything. I believe she said when they had one of the few women in the office hit 10 years they didn't know what to get her but they wanted it to be of equal value. She was also the only one at the 10 year mark that year. They sent her on a European vacation.
