  • Just ordered a JICO stylus for my Shure cartridge to replace the Shure stylus that is on it's way out.
Hope it lives up to the hype.
If you grew up in the '90s, don't act like you forgot this song. It was on every mixtape you made for that special boy or girl in high school.
I don't always listen to this song, but when I do I have to hear it at least five times before anything else.
I have been humming the theme to "Newhart" for 3 hours. I haven't thought about this show in 30 years, please someone make it stop.

Finally got around to the new Sleater Kinney in the last day or two.
If you pretend it was put out under a different name, it's actually quite good. If I have to rank it among all their other albums, it's third or fourth from the bottom.

Honestly, I think all their albums but The Center Won't Hold are good to great. Path to Wellness was a nice return to form.

I actually enjoy Center Won't Hold as well, even if I rank it low in their catalogue. I think that fact that their comeback album was so much better than it needed to be really hurts everything since- these are actually more typical later-career albums, solid and enjoyable, even if not as essential as the earlier ones.

I'm not saying I don't like the album, I'm saying that, in terms of replay in comparison with some other albums, it's a little lower on my list. As its own thing, I really enjoyed it.
Have you ever been just going about your day and then, out of nowhere, a song that you have heard many times just all of a sudden makes you weep like a baby? Damn you, "He Went To Paris."
Bullion's "Pet Sounds in the Key of Dee" (a Dilla inspired reinvention of Pet Sounds) has been reissued. THIS IS NOT A DRILL!

    Is there an official release?

I am assuming yes, because Discogs is allowing it to be sold and they do not allow the sale of bootlegs.
After several weeks of "sorry out of stock" emails from places I had ordered from, a box FINALLY came today with a copy of the Wedding Present's "Seamonsters" 2xLP/CD expanded reissue. Did they not think people in the US would want this?

I have the 10" box but thought about ordering this. How is it?
Making my own Twilight Zone marathon since we canceled cable a month ago. I dare say my choices are better.
The upside of sharing your favorite songs with your toddlers: when they enjoy things you do :)
The downside of sharing your favorite songs with your toddlers: I have listened to "Video Killed The Radio Star" 23 times since Monday morning.

Music discovery and kids are simultaneously enthralling and disturbing. I distinctly remember our daughter, 4 at the time, singing to our 1 year old son in the back seat of the car.....

"I love you, I'm not gonna crack
I kill you, I'm not gonna crack"

For the record, they're both alive and well and the greatest kids you could ever wish for.

My kid listened to Metallica for the first time and wanted to listen to more. I was pretty sure I won at parenting that day.

My three-year-old has been all about Slayer's South of Heaven for the last two days - which is more than fine by me!

I reckon being with each other only half the time lessens the monotony of some of the musical/story obsessions quite a bit because it's been a hot minute since anything has hit way too repetitive, thankfully.
Two pre-SubPop albums by Eric's Trip are in existence? In physical format? Paging Dr. Paypal...
Just remembered I ruined a 5th grader's day last week when I informed her that, yes, adults DO know who Mitski is and she is famous for things other than a Tik Tok Challenge.
What is your favorite song by The Pretenders and why is it "Talk of the Town?"

Hard to chose one out of the self-titled debut. Precious is such an awesome opener. Then it's banger after banger until you hit pop perfection starting from Stop Your Sobbing until Mystery Achievement to close out the album. And Brass In Pocket is one of those pop songs I never tire of.

I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Back on the Chain Gang, especially the way Chrissie sings "Those were the happiest days of my life..."
