  • Anybody get the recent reissue of Lou Reed - New York on vinyl? Been on a Lou Reed kick lately and wondering how the reissue sounds....I kinda wish the price was cheaper and didn't include the CD/DVD audio...
If anybody In the US sees The Weeknd or Mac Demarco RSD releases (other here comes the cowboy demos) please let me know! Edit: might have been sorted!
For those who sell records online and print your own postage via PayPal, any idea how much a 1LP box might weigh?

@wmeugene thanks! I ended up doing 1lb 6oz I think. It's a single LP non-gatefold so hoping it's right! Seems it based on pricing when I go to USPS.

I've always gone with 2 lbs for a single album and 3 for a dbl and haven't had any issues ;)

Single albums 1 lb. 2 Lp 2 lb’s. But to be honest it often rings up as 1 lb 3 oz and the PO has never said a word. A lot of time when I bring in 2 shipments they put one on the scale, scan it and then put the second on top and scan it so the receipt for that one shows both weights. Not so sure they really look at that.

I really regret buying some of these MoFi One Steps...because now I have the itch to buy a whole bunch of them...
Seriously paring down my record collection. Managed to put 250+ albums in the sale pile to bring to my local today. Joked with my fiancée that my one out/one in policy I was supposed to enact this year starts tomorrow!

Plus...my record store got hit pretty hard with COVID. They still aren’t open yet. I’m happy to give them a deal if they find value in them and it helps them out at all! A lot are from one collection I purchased a few years back for dirt cheap.

@scotthilk I had about 1200 LPs in discogs but not everything was in there (It was probably missing around 2-300 that I never got around to adding in). Probably getting rid of around 300-350 total. Keeping most of the gems myself but if any others come up that I want to sell will be sure to post em here first!
Anybody have any interest in purchasing my Secretly Society pressing of the new Jason Molina - Eight Gates album? Forgot to swap it out and not sure I'll spin it enough and have no shelf space left! Opened and spun once but in great shape!
Anybody happen to have/know where I can get a good disc 1 of the In Rainbows box set?

Found the box set for $30 but side B on disc one has some damage on it. Figured it was worth the gamble for $30!

I've gotta hand it to Bleep...I received a sealed copy of Dear Science with a pressing error (same song twice and another song missing) and after emailing Bleep, they refunded the entire purchase + shipping since they had no more stock and let me keep the record-- all within 48 hours.

So they get back to me, tell me they pulled a bunch of pressings off the line and tested them and confirmed they had the same issue I had encountered. They thanked me, and then sent me a black copy, a purple copy, and all the limited extras that came with all the Beta Band reissues like patches and fanzine reissues. Super cool of them.

@Mather I had a similar thing happen with Jagjaguwar. I bought a used Bon Iver 12" single and when I went to play it, the album was super off center and sounded awful. Contacted them and they said they didn't have any other copies left since it was long sold out but I could pick any other Bon Iver LP in their store and they would send it to me for free.

Yeah it's pretty cool, I've had really good luck with getting replacements directly from labels and stores, Juno.uk, Turntable Lab etc... They've mostly been pretty good.

Finally tracked down a relatively cheap copy of Dear Science by TVOTR. Put it on the turntable this AM and side B has Golden Age twice in a row and is missing Family Tree. Doh!

@Mather yep that's what i meant...even confused myself with that one. Side A ends with Dancing Choose and side B starts with Dancing Choose again.

@McGlam --yea it's one of my favorites on the album too. Such a bummer it's just missing from this press. Can only seem to find copies of it in the UK and since Bleep's shipping wasn't too awful I went for it. Hoping they refund me...didn't even realize there was a mispress.

Is it true that discogs sale stats are only for the most recent 10 sales?
You all probably know this by now, but if you plan on buying any records today, look on bandcamp first! Bandcamp is waiving their fees today for bands and they need your support now more than ever. Lots of great stuff out there.
Is it just me or have discogs prices gone through the roof on a lot of stuff lately? Was looking through my collection to see what to sell and there's a lot of stuff that used to be listed for $40 or $50 and is now listed at $100+...is it that more people are at home buying vinyl and more people are selling due to economic uncertainty?

@MikeH easiest solution is to just buy what you know you’ll enjoy. I’m not positive on the inner workings of cogs. If you don’t add tracking into the transaction comments then they don’t post it as a confirmed sale? I’d think they would, unless the sale is cx’d. But a seller can still make a “confirmed sale” never cancel it and never pay their monthly sellers bill.

@High Rant District has a great point here! Years ago I used to buy and sell comics as a hobby. This was before a lot of the films came out so I would speculate and buy first appearances. Anyway, I'm still a member of a lot of private Facebook groups and near every payday there will be a surge of posts saying "I have an extra £X to spend, what have you got".

Similar to sports cards/vinyl, the secondhand market for comic books is escalating in price. I guess with no new comics, and closed shops, everyone is sent online to spend that cash they typically have earmarked for weekly pickups.

I usually buy new, but try and pick up some key issues of Spider-Man and Daredevil once in a while. I know in the back of my head what certain issues go for, and they go up every week.
Anybody know anything about recapping KEF 101 speakers? I bought a KEF 101 capacitor kit from Falcon audio and now seems like they are the incorrect caps...if anybody has experience recapping speakers and wants to make some extra money by recapping them for me...let me know!
Shoutout to VMP for finally making me buy some Grateful Dead music, just not from them. I have an American Beauty MoFi and the Day of the Dead box set coming my way 😎
Anybody have any experience with Nautilus Recordings as a label? Curious about their Superdisc series...

Well now you’ve got me doubting my ears. Just listened to the candy on and it sounds better than my other copy. Drums are a little crisper but it’s nothing other worldly. I’m not sure how much more nautilus stuff goes for

@feesrevenge Depends on the title, but usually, a good bit more than the standard presses

Yea I’m eying a few titles...they don’t have the best selection (at least on discogs) and stuff like Rumours is way too expensive. Can’t see that being better than the 45RPM from Pallas. Some others have decent prices.
