This One World: Together at Home Concert is sweet! Loved seeing Stevie Wonder sing Lean on Me. Lots of big names have already performed and many more to come!
My mom rarely ever recommends music to me. She asked me about Bill Withers today, said she was listening to him and thought I should too. A few hours later and it turns out he's passed away, crazy world. RIP Bill Withers, one of the all time soul greats!
Posting again for the later crowd. Our N&G Winter Challenge to stay active had 10 participants, who were active for 10.28 days, traveled 614 miles and burned 151,273 calories from 1/10 - 3/31! It definitely helped us stay motivated to be active. Join us in the Fitness! thread and for our Quarantine Challenge and stay active from 4/1 - 5/31:
Let's work to stay in the GROOVE(s) of working out. This challenge is again set up for active minutes. So you can input runs, bike rides, yoga sessions, weight training, snowboarding, whatever you'd like. Let's
I love live hip hop with a band or orchestra. Been listening to Nas - Illmatic with National Symphony Orchestra, Kanye West - Late Orchestration, Jay-Z - Unplugged and The Roots Come Alive all day. What are some other albums like these that have orchestras backing hip hop artists that I should check out?

The one bad thing about having a Nest doorbell is watching my mail lady throw my records onto the porch. Every. single. time. I'm sure worse things happen to it during its trip to me, but I don't like watching it haha
After playing a 10" record and realizing I never even look at the 10" records which I have stored separately from my 12", I added the handful of them back in with the 12" records. Does this make me a heathen? I have them stored centered on the records around then, is there really a chance for them to warp the 12" records around them? I have them stored so I can flip through them, not looking at the spines.
Dave Matthews Livestream tonight courtesy of Verizon benefiting small businesses at 8pm EST. They say they're doing one every Tues and Thurs night with big names, should be pretty sweet and definitely cool to see them helping small businesses. Info in the comments:
Watch The Thrill Is Gone: A Tribute to B.B. King (filmed live at The Capitol Theatre on Sunday, February 16, 2020) on FRI, MAR 20 only on The Relix Channel.
I can't decide what my favorite Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings album is. When Soul of A Woman came out I thought that was it, then thought it was just recency bias and gave the crown back to 100 Days, 100 Nights. Listening to both back to back today and still can't decide haha both are so good!
No new releases from this year have grabbed me and caused me to want to listen to them again and again. The only album on my year end list is Texas Sun and I've been listening to a bunch of favorites from the past 3-4 years. I feel like I'm forcing myself to listen to 2020 releases hoping something sticks. After 1 listen, I'm really hoping the new Monophonics album snaps me out of this 2020 funk!
When I listen to Lee Fields & The Expressions - Lover Man all I can hear is a specific hip hop beat but I can't find anything saying it was sampled by anyone. Anyone else hear something familiar in that guitar part at the 0:42 mark, or know where it's been sampled?
