Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

It sounds just like the standard black, and my Side A had a playable warp, but when I flipped it over Side B it had (to put it in their terms) a few nickels worth warp that I was too nervous to even put my needle on.

But paying $11 more for the limited pink and waiting a little over two months for something I’m afraid to play is highly disappointing.
Exactly, just “meh” all around.

So my much delayed Comet Is Coming and Weyes Blood both arrived. Similar warp as you described. Weyes Blood bigger warp and click throughout side 1. Fuck sake. Still to play my much delayed Fist City.

Yikes! What causes that?
That sound is usually associated with non-fill:

I don't think it is always totally visible though.

Coloured vinyl can be more volatile for sure. My flattener is pretty high tech so I don't think it has the same issues in terms of creating noise, it doesn't actually heat the grooves, only the inner label and outer run in. Leaves the music untouched.

Sounds like a real nice vinyl flat you bought there.

I've definitely had a few non-fill issues (visible ones) that produce a loud static when the needle goes over it. I guess these are the mini version?

Mine is slightly warped but not enough for me to fuss over. Sounds just fine. I did immediately swap out the paper sleeve for a Mofi though.
I just played mine and it's the same thing. Very minor warp (likely due to the way it was packaged). I really like the balanced sound of the vinyl version. I listened to it on headphones and it was unreal.
Played Kingmaker.... Lots of static and pops especially at the beginning of side A. Didn't have a chance to spin the other three sides but I will hopefully do so today. Slight warp (bigger than Comet is Coming but doesn't effect play). After I listen to the other three sides, I will likely be messaging CS because this is not what I expected from Kingmaker. It makes me very sad because this is an amazing album and the vinyl sounds amazing when it's not popping or static.

Another thing that annoys me with the VMP Trust In The Lifeforce Of The Deep Mystery is the standard came with a nice, non paper audiophile style inner sleeve. What does VMP’s press come with? The cheapest paper sleeve.

They really do cut corners in order to maximize their profits.
Oh that's brutal about the sleeves, Jesus. There are members here that can flatten that for you. Hell I can flatten that for you but it's probably not worth the shipping costs. Correction, it's DEFINITELY not worth the shipping costs... But a US member could...

I have a vinyl flat. I'm happy to give it a shot for you. Just let me know. But do as the wise @Mather suggested and see if a local shop does it. If not, just hmu!

So was told that my warps ‘just look like they could use a cleaning.’ Not even going to discuss it with them. And not even surprised. I just won’t bother using them again.

So given Weyes Blood another clean. Like I did before I initially played it. And you know what... it does sound better. When I sit in the room next to it. Not in the same room. It sounds poor in that room. Slowing down on string parts. Like a warp. Because it was warped. But how would I, a record collector with 2,000 + records be able to ascertain that.

Have you tried hitting pause on the turntable, spinning down the record, and reflecting on it more intentionally?

I wasn’t aware that cleaning something can alter the very fabric of space-time, unbending the bent, unbreaking the broken, unwarping the warped. Now I am concerned about mopping my floor in the fear I might open a wormhole or create a black hole or something.
