Metal!

Nu Metal, which technically isn't metal even though it's in the name. At least according to the old-heads.

Nu Metal is a fusion genre with hard rock. It shares more in common with alt rock or hard rock than it does metal roots.

Also see: Tool. It's alt metal/nu metal/progressive hard rock. Not "metal".

Either way, they are both heavy, so if you want to call them metal I'm not going to argue with you - just sharing perspective of the pedants out there.
Yeah, IDK. I definitely am not a subject matter expert. Slipknot and Nu Metal would fall in the metal and hip-hop overlap on my genre Venn diagram.

I totally agree about Tool though, I never thought of them as Metal in so much as I alway associated them more with industrialish hard rock (NIN, Marilyn Manson, Ministry, Etc..) though there is certainly an overlap in all these styles which obviously makes them it tough to pigeonhole any of them

Basically what I am trying to is:

FUCK LABELS, MAN!

Sludge/doom deal alert! Cross posted from deal thread:

Philly sludge/doom band MOROS put out an album on Hidden Deity Records this year, but the label is shutting down so they're putting remaining stock on the label webstore at $7 for the rest of August.

More goodies from Relapse, this time with a bit nicer price.

New Exhumed LP, Horror on a pretty cool looking tri-color + splatter variant. (There was a $100 bundle with a VHS tape but that sold out).

The first single is pretty killer...

Some of y'all have probably seen me post about Sorxe before, I absolutely loved their last album, Matter & Void. They're a sludge/drone band out of Phoenix (notably, they're a 4-piece with 2 bassists). If you're into Inter Arma, Toke, Thou, Sunn O))), etc., you will likely dig these guys.

They just released the first single from their new album, The Ark Burner, which will be out mid-October. Single absolutely rips, expecting really great things from this album!
Pre-order from Prosthetic Records here!

Also, just look at this mock-up!!! (also just a note, I've had a few records from Prosthetic that have not turned out at all like the mock-up, but I've also had some that look absolutely incredible. This looks like it'll be a toss-up.)

Anyone able to catch this Boris tour that could possibly pick up extras of the tour editions of Akuma No Uta, Feedbacker, and LφVE & EVφL?
I’m told they’re $30 apiece but only Akuma No Uta is on Discogs so far and with a price of $120

Wow, this looks gorgeous!
They're not in Europe before December and sadly not even in my city.
I preordered Akuma No Uta and Feedback but would love to get these tour editions as well.
Unsure if I can make it to a concert and if they'll still be available.
So if anyone should see them in the coming weeks and could do me a huge favour, please let me know.
I'll happily pay in advance and for a beer or two - or whatever you prefer. :)

Fingers crossed they'll do flood next.

Flood is my favorite of theirs, without a doubt

Spinning this right now.

I had no clue what this was but it had a cool cover and label so I just gave it al listen. Who knew I needed some Jazzy Stoner Metal in my life. I did not expect the saxophone and wasn't sure they'd pull it off but damn if it didn't turn out to be a nice addition.
