Pre-Order Thread

You need that splatter Hoist. Probably one of the best looking and sounding records in my collection.

Agreed. I grabbed that first thing on RSD. I've had decent luck grabbing a good amount of the Phish releases, even when I fucked up and missed them the first time around.

My son got super into Phish over the pandemic, so I had to go fill a bunch of holes. In fact, we still have to watch a Phish show every Tuesday, even though the Dinner & A Movie streams aren't weekly anymore. He always puts one on. We're actually watching one right now.

I had the RSD Billy Breathes, Story Of The Ghost, and Hoist, along with the blue Magnaball Rift. I've had the white tape for a long time and bought the Siket disc when it was popping up for around $7 on Amazon, awhile back. Somehow, I found a sealed copy of the numbered Picture of Nectar on Ebay for about $30, shortly before he discovered that he loved them.

Last year, I started scooping certain things up right as they were vanishing. I got the black Lawn Boy that way. Then they did that Junta reissue. I think I found the RSD Slip, Stitch, & Pass on Newbury and, most recently, tracked down a copy of Joy from a Canadian shop. Unfortunately, my order for A Live One is still listed as "backordered" from Acoustic Sounds a year later.

Sometimes you can still find the random title on a random online shop, though. It just involves a lot of ordering shit and expecting it to get canceled.

Did the Phish Phans see this?
Yep. Ryley Walker’s 18-minute First Tube is what I’m looking forward to.

Yeah, there have been two copies of that splatter RSD Slip Stitch and Pass at a FYE near me, of all places. Have been sitting there since release. I just grabbed one yesterday for @Mack37 .

Still one there. But yeah, I love that live release, might be my favorite Phish vinyl release thus far. Though '97 was my favorite year for them, and those Euro shows (of the few complete SDBs I have) are some of my favorite.

But SS&P just rips. Perfect version of Jesus Just Left Chicago, with that lovely quiet soloing by Trey at the end, Mikes Song gets pretty intense and goes into that Floyd tease (Careful with Your Axe Eugene), playful Fishman during Weekapaug offering to make dinner for his mom, then borrow the car. Typical jest. It's just great.

Mastered by Bellman and the album is just really punchy. Bass and drums are fat.

How much did they want for it and would you be willing to go back and get the last one?

I was hoping for Farmhouse or even a random live show on wax, but a funky lawn boy color is kinda cool. I know most feel the same but I would like to see Hampton comes alive or maybe a winter ‘99 show or even IT or Oswego in a nice box set. Weird how they didn’t put this lawn boy out for rsd in June since it has a may 31 release date I think, but since it’s just a reissue of a reissue maybe it doesn’t meet the criteria for them, kinda like the red & black ghost.

edit- whoops, didn’t realize there was a phish thread. My bad

It's $49.95 plus tax, so about $55. So, $59 shipped to you. It has some shelf wear on the jacket, which appeared pretty minor. Definitely cheaper than the $100 on Discogs. I can grab it for you later today, PM me.

Why does this feel like Amazon won’t be able to fulfill these? Isn’t the regular order of events to hear it from a viable source before seeing it on other outlet’s websites as people start searching for it elsewhere?

I bought it, but it smells phishy I guess you could say 😉
I have a similar feeling with the Voivod "Outer Limits" preorder -- I didn't even know they were doing a reissue and it popped on my amazon, wtf.

Toto live album:
TOTO and The Players Club / Mascot Label Group announce the global release of With A Little Help From My Friends on June 25. The performance captures one special night on November 21, 2020 when Steve Lukather, Joseph Williams and David Paich appeared with the new line-up of TOTO for a global event originating from Los Angeles, CA.

With A Little Help From My Friends has the feel of an intimate club show, and the set list was built on an eclectic group of songs for this one night only performance. The band digs deep into the TOTO catalog, while also playing hits like "Rosanna", "Hold The Line" and "Stop Loving You".

If you didn't see or hear the show when it first aired in November, then you're in luck, because we're releasing the entire performance on CD, Blu-ray, DVD, 4 different vinyl colors, and digitally. Scroll down for a whole range of items, including signed vinyl and a special "Tour" T-shirt that's only available from the Mascot store.
