Definitive Audiophile pressings

So, I’m a little hungover and I’m loving life right now! I recently got my turntable back after having my turntable repaired and a Rega Exact cartridge installed and I’m spinning some of the Half-Speed Bob Marley pressings and I’m absolutely amazed at how incredible they sound! They sound balanced, detailed and very lively! I’m so in love and couldn’t be any happier right now! 🤗🕺🌴

Exodus is my favourite Bob Marley album and this Abbey Road pressing definitely sounds better than the other pressing I had, which was a Back To Black pressing! If you love Bob Marley and want some high quality pressings, then don’t look past these recent Abbey Road Half-Speed mastered reissues!!! 💎

Anyone got a spare Coltrane - Lush Life One-Step? I missed it :(
Oh no! I have a feeling they’ll be a repress coming! I hope so for you! This Coltrane One-Step looks like it may already be my favourite of 2021! I love Lush Life and I love an audiophile pressing and this could potentially be the best sounding single LP pressing I will own!

There’s no repress...limited to 1,000.

@The Denmarkian Wonder —The CS rep did say to keep an eye on the site and sign up for email notifications as they will be cancelling a bunch of orders and they will go back to the shop for sale. They told me that people who ordered more than one order will get an order cancelled and some other people voluntarily cancelled orders so those will get added back. That may be your best bet!

That’s crazy it was only limited to 1,000 copies! Very grateful I actually purchased a copy! 🙏

I really wish I just purchased the super vinyl pressing for Bob Dylan’s Desire! I remember it was only USD$75 but I didn’t purchase it because international shipping was USD$40 from Music Direct! 😖🥺

Thanks! I signed up for the newsletter on both sites and notification on the international site but should probably do it on the US site as well.

There’s not a whole lot of audiophile reggae out there but this is one of the records that just sound amazing in every iteration I’ve ever heard it. I’m super excited to get the Jamaican mix of Catch a Fire once it finally ships. I’ll probably end up getting a handful of the half speeds if I come across them.

I listened to that yesterday and it sounded incredible Mitchwagz! I’ve listened to Burnin’, Exodus and Catch A Fire so far and they all sound incredible! Much more dynamic and balanced and detailed than the Back To Black reissues!!!

I just played Against All Logic’s 2017-2019 and holy shit, the 3LP pressing sounded incredibly good too! 👌

I’m so happy and I feel like I’ve gotten my joy back after listening to vinyl, especially audiophile quality pressings! 😁♥️

I’d maybe recommend a website monitoring extension in Chrome or something if you’re desperate to grab a copy!
Desperate? Who says i'm desperate?

Right there with you!

Got to swap out my worn Ortofon Blue on my RT85 today with a Shibata tipped Ortofon Blue thanks to @VMPKJ and it’s been the highlight of my week already. Past couple of weeks any record I’ve thrown on with vocals has sounded dreadful, harsh highs and super muddy lows, all the definition disappeared.

Threw the new Blue on there today and it’s been a night and day difference, certainly a lot more getting picked up behind the scenes for better and worse like @Mather warned with the shibatas, but Ive been relieved by how quality most of my pressings have been! Been cleaning records all day and throwing them on the table and having a blast. Love the feeling a solid upgrade brings to the mix.

That's just it, if you did your homework and sourced good pressings, the Shibata will make them shine. Then you can just kinda... push the other ones to the side... the ones that now sound like hot garbage.

I didn't know this existed and now I HAVE to have it... I bought a $15 copy at a Record Fair in Thornbury that sounds lovely, but...

I would plus one for an MC micro line :) but I agree with the sentiment. I threw out two records yesterday. No time for poorly recorded records these days.

Edit: I should clarify for @Joe Mac that’s the only time I’ve thrown them out. I usually pass along albums but the one was so poorly mastered that I felt bad giving it to someone.

I also have very old floppy warped albums which surprisingly sound well recorded. I refuse to keep junk though. Or pass it along.

I was going to say to come over to my house, but I’m moving out to South Yarra next week, which will be more close to where you live! So after I’ve moved in and have settled, you should come over and we can spin all those Abbey Road Bob Marley pressings and other stuff you love! And you can crash at the apartment too; we’re getting a massive as couch/sofa! 🤙☺️

Me and my housemate are also really good at making cocktails too! 🍹🍸😏🤫🙊😈

I love Thornbury Records by the way! It’s such a great record store!!! 😍
