ya...I made it through 50 with zero Jason Molina, Bill Callahan, Elliot Smith, Beck...a lot of personal favorites and even those with some influencer-cred on their name.

I think it speaks a bit to the difference in a stand-out album/two vs. a complete and/or diverse catalog, at least when it comes to just 50 albums and especially when you make the call to only have one album per artist.
 
So I’m going to post little countdowns of 5 on here from 50 downwards as I spin them. I did the first five this afternoon.

December 1, so there’s still plenty of time. And yes, I envy everyone who is able to not overthink this exercise and has already compiled and submitted their list!

It kinda fitted into the fact that part of the enjoyment in this for me is playing these albums that I love too! I listen to a lot of albums but even I can’t listen to 50 quick enough to a fast roll out! Plus yeah there is definitely something to be said about an element of the tease.

I was expecting 30 prince, 15 Bowie and 5 growling ones 😜

BTW we only have one album in common in our top 50s! CRWX diversity!
 
All right, I’m too excited so I’ll just start my slow roll.... now!

Here’s the start of mine. I certainly don’t expect to impress anyone with my list, but it is what is!

I also made the difficult decision to include only one album per artists in my top 50

Without further delay...

I really can’t tell you the last time that I listened to number 50 and 49 but they occupied such a huge part of my childhood that I simply could not leave them off the list

This is one of my favorite albums to come out this decade and it certainly deserves a spot, it’s one of those that I don’t see myself ever getting tired of

I have to be in a special mood for this one, but there are moments when this is literally the only thing I want to listen to and absolutely nothing else will satisfy me

If Save Ferris being on my list didn’t cause me to lose your respect then the fact there is only one Bowie album and it’s this low will likely push you over the edge. If it doesn’t, well then there is surely plenty of time left!
