Fresh Grabs

This is one of the most beautiful packages I've ever seen, unique, the belly band on the inside to hold the book and CD, the freekin' CD trey for the LP and the little "personal" touches of the notes, pics and so on make it a really nice tribute to Chester. Not to mention, they did a really nice job on the pressing. Extremely happy with this purchase :)

Okay so I came across this Pure Pleasure AAA pressing of Skip James "Today!" a few weeks back and grabbed it. I expected it to sound good but likely kinda rough in that charming southern blues kind of way. Uhhhhhh, this might be the best sounding record in my collection. It is, absolutely astonishing how good this sounds. If you like blues even a little, and you see this out in the wild somewhere, get it. You will not be disappointed. Of course I looked at the runouts after I spun it and lo and behold it's Kevin Gray mastered at AcousTech. Which was the AP mastering facility up until 2010. Also it was pressed at Pallas... so yeah...

Finally got some of the records i bought in 2018/2019 😄 I have a couple friends in the US who help me out with stuff and one of them finally shipped the records (and Blu-Rays) i had sent to him during 18-19. The other sent a package full of records last week 😬

And while i'm (still) waiting on Analogue Seduction to send me my replacement Amp, i decided to upgrade the speaker cables...

These came with the records and i was SO close to trim my unwatched pile down to 100 and now i've dropped back to about 170 (not counting short films and TV shows) 😅
