Zu Dirty Weekend

Have you noticed a change in the bass? As in a slightly deeper sound?
I wouldn't say it's deeper, but I never felt the bass wasn't deep enough to begin with, even on the tiles. It "firms" up the sound a bit more, a bit tighter, a little more detail, etc... I think all of these "little" changes reflect accordingly with "little" changes to the sound.

I get the feeling the sound was doing a little resonating on the tiles because they weren't really grounded to the floor/carpet. The tiles aren't flat on the bottom, they were on carpet with the ball end feet, so again, I think a little vibration was working it's way into the sound.........minimal, but the bamboo probably cleaned that up.

Gotcha. I bought the ones that I posted on the previous page and put them under my Pioneers and I think firm is the right wording. I’ve been looking at my bass setting on my receiver to see if it’s been moved and it’s in the same position. 😁 It’s slight but it is noticeable. Unless it’s all in my head 🤪

Hi all. I've a friend that is interested in a set of bookshelf speakers. Does anyone here have enough experience with the Zu Audio Omen bookshelf to lean in an make a recommendation?

So do I completely remove the bolts from the bottom?

No. The more you unscrew them the more space you get underneath. You must have space underneath for the design to work properly. Use the ball end feet for tile/hardwood. Or remove them and use the spikes in carpet.

The higher you raise them, the more bass you get. You want at least the thickness of a CD case.

sorry i meant the nuts. I took those off and adjusted the bolts about 4 turns each to raise them.

I played Rick James-Street Songs and it sounded fantastic! Moved on to Disintegration and then the La La Land soundtrack. Definitely need to make some adjustments to the height as the bass on the soundtrack was a bit too heavy. Right off the bat I noticed the difference in loudness and clarity compared to my Pioneers. This is going to be fun!

Well shit. They just announced a new Starlight finish which is great but i notice where now Black Satin is now the entry finish and the Rustic Hickory is $100 more.
