Pre-Order Thread

Same, I only have Bruised Orange on wax. I plan on being first on line on RSD to make sure I get my copy. I am sure opportunist are gonna try to flip the fuck out of his back catalog going forward.

Ugh it’s listed as a RSD exclusive too. I was hoping it was a RSD first. Do we think theyll be individually released at some point? I really want that debut but don’t want to pay the almost triple digits it went for before he passed.

I'd be shocked if they don't individually repress all the albums sometime soon. Still, would love that box. Hopefully they rethink it being a RSD release (or at least a RSD exclusive).

Psyched about the Matador 25th Anniversary series! But, as far as Yo La Tengo goes, what REALLY needs a pressing is their record The Sounds of the Sounds of Science. It's never been pressed and that album is absolutely gorgeous.

EDIT: No wonder, just checked Discogs, Matador didn't put it out, it was a place called Egon Records. Well, here's to hoping someone presses it.
YES... love that album. Whenever VMP does one of their "what would you like us to press" questions on Twitter or FB, I always suggest this.

I always recommends to leave the requests on Music On Vinyl's website. It seems like they actually pay attention to the requests. Plus, it's free so who knows, maybe they'll read your message.

Not sure, it seems like they would, it is Rhino that is putting it out. I know Rhino originally reissued his self-titled and Sweet Revenge the other two I don’t think have ever been reissued. Not to be glib but I would imagine that if they hadn’t planned on individual reissues before they likely will reconsider now.

They need to repress Bruised Orange too. I might just have to wait a year until the post death gouging stops to get a copy on vinyl.

Yeah, that one is on Asylum I totally agree but who knows if Rhino has access to all of his back catalog or if just the Atlantic albums. I would imagine his wife of 24 years will likely be in charge of his legacy. I’d assume there will be lots of reissues over the next few years.

Yeah. the records are pressed, they are gonna get sold. There might be only one RSD event this year, but there will be one
I know a bunch of folks like to shit on RSD (and they certainly have legitimate gripes) but it is a huge boon for a lot of the participating stores, like the difference between operating at a loss or a profit for the year big. It might be postponed again or switched to some sort of online event but it will definitely happen in some way, shape or form.

I for one would be good if it was all done internet and contactless phone preordered pickup. Still thru indie RSD stores. You could even have the weekend that is only for local pickup b4 allowed internet Mailorder.

Just no long drive, no waiting in lines, and crowds to maybe get what I want. You would know what you are getting, drive by, pickup at car in lot/street, and head back home to start spinning.

This is one of those ideas that seem great in theory but are probably a flipper's wet dream kind of scenarios
