These Monterey sets on vinyl are stellar. Have The Who and Otis Redding/Booker T ones and they sound phenomenal AND have great packaging.

Biggest want is The Life Aquatic (even though I have the Seu Jorge bootleg). Though if I make it out, I'll probably snag the Carole King and Big Brother and the Holding Company/Janis live releases.

God, I was so into this band in high school, so much so that the band I played in was basically a heavier version of them. It was like Beatles, Jane's Addiction, Pantera, and Saigon Kick from my sophomore to senior years.

After looking again, a few cool items but absolutely no must-haves. Will track down the audio for the Jimi set to peep. Otherwise, the U-Roy compilation will probably be my only grab and that may be a stretch.

Surprisingly, a couple of long-time wants of mine on that list. The John Legend has never been on vinyl. And Maxwell - Now has never been reissued. The OG pressing is getting harder to find and has begun to go for silly prices.
There’s a few others I’m on the fence at first glance. Not sure if I’ll line up or just take my chances online. Seems like I’ve been able to find stuff online for max a couple of bucks more than in-store day of.

FWIW, Life Aquatic looks like a RSD First -- not an exclusive. I really wish they would just release the Seu Jorge as a legit pressing. I have the boot too and it sounds fiiiine, but not amazing.

Well, I absolutely have to get that Secaucus. One of my favorite albums. Other than that it's Isbell (like everyone else).

I have a feeling this Life Aquatic OST is gonna be hard to find. I fully expect it to sell quickly. Also, why the hell didn't they include the Sigur Ros track on the soundtrack? That is literally the climax of the film!
Side note:
First time I saw this film was back in 2004. I'd say it was well before Wes Anderson achieved his fame/reverence as a filmmaker. Anyways...I cannot recall why, but the college theater I went to in Madison, WI was showing this film in a small side room where they had a bunch of couches spread out. The film was projected on a small, white concrete wall. You could hear the projector and film whirring in the back of the room as the movie played. I sat on a couch in the middle of the room and watched the film. Probably the most Wes Anderson movie-going experience I could imagine, even though it was completely random.

I know it’s besides the point but he was pretty renowned straight out of the gate. By the time Life Aquatic dropped he’d already made both Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums. Obviously it’s not the Oscars but MTV awarded him as Best Director back in 1996 for Bottle Rockets and used the Max Fisher Players to introduce their film of the year nominees in 1999. I would say that’s mainstream (if not quite critically important) fair.
RT was such a great film, recently re-watched it with our daughter, who's 22 now.

Yeah, you are probably right. Let me reword that: I'd say Life Aquatic was where he really solidified the whole Wes Anderson "motif"/film style. But, I'm not a huge fan of his, outside of Life Aquatic, Royal Ten., Bottle Rocket, and Fantastic Mr. Fox. So what do I know?

LOL! Sorry I am an admitted Wes Anderson fan boy. Rushmore is one of my all time favorite films.
Also, you named a like a quarter of his output as a director, maybe you’re a bigger fan than you think?
I gotta say that as a grown up that adored Roald Dahl as a child I pretty much hated everything about Fantastic Mr Fox

Disappointed with the list overall, like many, but I am excited for the Rob Dickinson (Catherine Wheel) release.
Just listened to it again for the first time in a long while, and it's right up my alley.
Not even the UK or Canada has exclusives I can be jealous of this time...but I'll order this one for sure.

At first my eyes lit up at the Iron Giant…… then I was sad to see picture disc….
