Jazz

This Bill Evans Trio RSD release, Behind the Dikes, sounds excellent. Really nice 3xLP set, though not cheap at $72 (for me). Trifold jacket, lined inner sleeves, big fat booklet and lots of photos. So far the sound is crystal clear, almost no surface noise. Only complaint is my copy the first record has a long and large edge warp on side B. The other records are flat and pressed well. Luckily the warp doesn't affect the sound.

Thanks for the review! Couldn’t make it out there today but looking for one of these if anyone sees them.

Good luck. If you are around today at 7pm CST, I'd try Plaidroom. You'll need to be ready to check out almost immediately I'm sure. I know last RSD Plaidroom had 5000 people hit their site almost immediately, per what they posted online. My recommendation would be to log into PayPal prior to 7pm, throw that Evans album in your cart and checkout as fast as you possibly can.

Can anyone comment on the Barney Wilen La Note Bleue release from RSD? One of my most anticipated releases for RSD.

I ordered this online last night after drinking in the sun. Looks like a great package (although what is the point of a CD these days, surely they could have stretched to another piece of vinyl).

Did everyone snag the Jazz titles they wanted yesterday? Any Favourites?

I haven't had a chance to listen to much, but really liking the Freddie Hubbard Tribute to Miles, also really surprised to see copies still available online with only 500 being pressed (although I'm sure they will press more).

I got the reissue Of Steve Reid Spirit Walk last time and it’s a winner!

Any thoughts on the Acoustic Sounds Bill Evans 64' / 65' albums coming out August 27 ?. They are up for preorder now in many places. Almost all of my Evans is digital ("most" is pretty good).
