Yeah, I had been watching because I my wife and I had nothing else to watch. But that last episode... woof, really looking forward to next week.
I might give it a whirl, and yet I keep striking out on HBO sci-fi stuff.
I didn't enjoy Westworld or Lovecraft Country, stalled on both.
I want something dark, and expertly written and acted...seems easy right? I can't watch The Wire a third time. Or can I?
Might head back for a Peaky Blinders re-watch.

Yep, loved it and watched it twice. Probably more like 2 1/2 because of certain episode re-watches. I miss that show. I had hoped for awhile that Matthew Weiner would do a later version, skip the 70s and go to Peggy running an agency in the 80s.
Liked it a lot, maybe that one is worth a re-watch. I loved Carrie Coon so much in that...and of course Ann Dowd was fantastic. It took me awhile to take Theroux seriously because his cocked eyebrow expression seemed less than serious and I kept picturing Ron Livingston in Office Space. But he settled in really well it seems.
I've watched most all of the beloved shows....
BB, Saul, Mad Men, The Wire, Deadwood, Sopranos, GoT, Downton, Fargo, True Detective, Six Feet Under, Rectify, Ozark.
That's such a great list, what is missing? I didn't get into Dexter or Weeds.
I haven't tried The Americans yet but after a chance recent encounter with one of the 80s Cold War spy thrillers from Tom Clancy that I had never read, The Cardinal of the Kremlin, I really want to dive into that show. Plus I love Matthew Rhys.

If there has been a better show in the last 5 years than The Americans, I haven't seen it.
I've definitely heard of it, I know some others on this forum like it too...what network or streaming service is it on?

I blasted through The Americans this past fall; can't recommend it enough. I watched it on amazon prime.
For two suggestions I'd like to throw out there The Crown, which I enjoyed though it went down best with one episode every day or so, not several back-to-back.
On the flipside of that I'd recommend Star Trek Deep Space Nine; I remember it being on tv a lot when I was a kid but I never got around to it in full, and it's very watchable. With twenty-something episodes a season, there's plenty of tv there.

What about another David Simon Show? Treme or The Deuce. Did you watch Succession? Season 3 should be starting up this year. Band of Brothers is my favorite War story ever, I’ve watched it countless times. I also really enjoyed Perry Mason... and speaking of Matthew Rhys staring shows, there is always The Americans. The last AMC show that I really cared for The Terror season one was fantastic. Also the TV version of Fargo is absolutely delightful. If you enjoy a blast from the past you could give The West Wing, Battlestar Galactica, or Twin Peaks a go. Another one I have been thinking of rewatching that I really enjoyed the first time through is Justified. If you never watched David Fincher’s Mindhunter, a fantastic serial killer series about the FBI in the 1970s as they develop psychological profiles. It is phenomenal. I would assume If you’ve seen Breaking Bad that you’re probably keeping up with Better Call Saul, but if not, it is at least just as good as BB. Whatever you choose keep us posted. I have just been rewatching old WWF PPV’s so I may need some inspiration to actually watching something that’s actually worthwhile.
If you haven't seen the show Terriers, it's worth a watch. It was only on for 1 season 10+ years ago before being cancelled. Recently re-watched it and still loved it. Have no idea where it's available though, I had it downloaded on my server.

Treme didn't keep my attention for some reason...I went in thinking I'd love it and yet, two tries and I stopped about the same time, towards the end of S1.
Loved Succession after thinking I'd dislike it.
Band of Brothers is A+ and Fargo I've enjoyed each season, but S1 was hard to top....fantastic.
Justified I really liked for a few seasons, I just wore out and didn't finish it.
Battlestar was good, but I don't think I finished it. I'm seeing a trend here.
Oooh, Mindhunter - I keep forgetting about that one. That or The Americans might be next.
And awhile back I think you recommended a German period piece type show, subtitled...I'd have to go back in the thread for that.
If you want something less prestige and more fun, NBC's Superstore is great.
