Im kinda surprised, and slightly disappointed, that you “only” have between 1500 and 2000 records

Discogs says 1780 which is +/- 20 given thrift store stuff I haven’t bothered to clean it catalog yet (usually add new stuff when it hits the door) and cogs weird habit of deleting listings from time to time.

now I want to start a “what’s your number” thread.

Delivered today! I saw 14 National shows on the I am Easy to Find tour and fell in love with Kate Stables. (She performs many backing vocals on the record) Finally saw her band, This is the Kit, as support at two shows in Glasgow. Wonderful!!!

Saw her in Newcastle (Gateshead technically) and she was superb live!!
Hope her new album is as good as her earlier efforts!!

Emmylou Harris - Wrecking Ball

The music of each West African country is strikingly different and while I love the Funk of Benin, the Manding of Mali, and highlife of Ghana, for me best of - most beguiling of all - is Senegalese music. It's hypnotic with almost Islamic singing married to sinuous guitar. This compilation is great but it's worth checking anything out by Orchestre Baobab or Star Band de Dakar.
And a fresh grab - this sounds wonderful from Emmylou. Just wish she would re-release Stumble Into Grace.
