Vinyl Me Please Rap & Hip Hop

i will only keep have rick ross if someone can trade it for something i would like more

I honestly cant believe I live in a world where people prefer Flockaveli over Teflon Don 😩🤦🏻‍♂️ Waka so Whack

It's weird to think in a world where there are so many great hip-hop records that need to be reissued or issued on wax for the first time, people are arguing over a Rick Ross release vs a Flacka release. It's like that shit sandwich joke but with rap.

That's actually the bigger picture here lol 🤣🤣🤣

Because we are talking about an album which is getting officially released on vinyl for the first time, from a solo artist, from the year 2010, which has the artists’ face on the album cover!

That’s why we are talking about those two particular hip-hop albums! We are talking about VMP’s April 2020 Rap & Hip-Hop ROTM!

EDIT: But I know what you mean, it’s kinda ridiculous it’s come to that! 🤪😝🙉

Flockaveli was so ahead of its time and still sounds great! Half of Teflon Don already sounds outdated in my opinion.....🤷‍♂️
Other than hard in da paint is waka even a credible artist? Sure look music is subjective, I just feel ross can rap, his production choice are dope and his all round credibility is way ahead of flocka but tbh for a r&hh it shouldnt be either really lol

I mean Waka comes from gangster royalty. His uncle was part of the original Supreme Team, Bimmy. His mom might be the hardest women i've ever seen. Sure, he's soft as room temperature butter but he comes from some real gangsters.

TBH, I like that Rick Ross was basically CB-4 but in real life. I find it hilarious. Once you get over the “real ness” of it all I can appreciate the theatrics.

Gave Teflon Don a fresh listen before swaps open since it's basically confirmed at this point and I'm feeling a pass on this one.

The album itself hasn't aged very well. I enjoyed maybe 5 tracks at best, and they still felt like 2010. The biggest draw to the release is that it's never been pressed before, so people will buy it for that reason only. It's a "get" from VMP's perspective as they're offering something that isn't available at the moment anywhere else, even if the album isn't that great.

Since it's getting such mixed reception both here and on reddit, my guess is that it sits in swaps for awhile similar to TI - King from last year.

Yeah, I think Teflon Don has aged poorly and there’s only around 4 songs on there that are ‘great’! It’s great that VMP get the rights to release it on vinyl for the first time exclusively, but personally, it’s a pass for me!

Can’t believe this will be my first R&HH ROTM pass ever!!! 😱😳🥺

I mean Gucci hired her to watch his back.. and that's a guy who straight up killed people trying to rob him.

Gucci been surrounded by gangsters too (like Bimmy) and still chose Waka's mom to rep him? Think it speaks volumes for her.

Not to get on a misogynistic tip, but in a male dominated field (like music but especially rap), women have to go extra hard for respect. Reminds me of Sylvia Robinson.. one of the original indie rap label owners who also was apparently gangster af.

Her brother, Bimmy.. was a major part of the Supreme Team. The guys that ran the streets of NY from the 80s up until like the 2000s? They're on the cover of Eric B & Rakim's first album (along with the original 50 Cent) and are probably responsible for like at least half the rappers shot and/or murdered in NYC during that era. 50 Cent? Shot by Supreme Team. E Money Bags? Killed by Supreme Team. Also the reason Ja Rule and Irv Gotti got hit with RICO charges (along with Jacob The Jeweller and a few others)
