Upcoming/Recent Shows

Just copped a ticket to Nick Cave at the Moda Center in October. Bummer is, it's one of the few dates he won't be joined by Weyes Blood, which would be such a great opener.

Anyone have that problem with assigned-seat shows where they don't know if they should buy multiple tickets without a guest in mind? I don't know any Cave fans, my wife is meh on him, and I didn't want to drop cash on a wasted ticket. But now I'm feeling regerts.

I was buying an extra often, but then nobody would commit so I don't do it as much anymore. Have fun at Nick Cave, he's always great. I'm taking break on this one this time. Saw him the last couple times in the smaller venues in Portland, and always amazing!

That happens to me often...being a single guy I'm thinking maybe I'll be dating someone by then, or would be a fun date. But then I end up either still being single or realizing I'd hate to take a date who might talk through the music! If it's a show that I think will sell out I usually buy two and then end up selling the extra at face but like @Matt M have been burned and had to eat the ticket on a few occasions.

I'm pretty pumped to finally see him live! It'll be odd to see Ghosteen tracks performed in an arena, but I'm game. I know he was at Revolution Hall late last year; kicking myself for missing that'un.

Yeah, even as an attached person, I've been burned. It depends on the ticket, I suppose; I'm ok with eating $20, and the times I've been stuck with an extra, I leave it at the box office for them to give the next person seeking to buy day-of; at least I can boost my karma a little.

Luckily my Daughter is 11 and likes concerts so I can take her if the show is all ages. Might take her with my extra to Colin Hay in a couple weeks. But yeah, I keep thinking I'll have someone to take but realize I don't really like people all that much :ROFLMAO:

Don't kick yourself too hard, I really didn't enjoy the Revolution show that much. Just some extremely stupid questions with people trying to make the show about them. The one before at the Schnitz was amazing though!

Right, that was the Q&A; it doesn't matter the subject and it doesn't matter the audience, Q&As make my skin crawl. Funny thing, my friends were on a flight coming into town before that show and he was seated in the row ahead of them and had to google him because they were wondering who 'the little guy practicing answers' in front of them was.

Akron locals Detention brought down the studio ( almost literally - the mics kept blowing fuses), this evening. These kids (yes kids - two are still in middle school!) just won the Cleveland battle of the bands which takes place at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The lead singer is the granddaughter of a member of Tin Huey. They're really awesome and I hope they go to far.

She slays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a really cool slate of shows developing for this summer - now I’m wondering how many of these are actually going to happen.

3/28 Pearl Jam / Baltimore POSTPONED
3/30 Pearl Jam / MSG POSTPONED
6/5 Jason Isbell / Pier 17
6/11 Car Seat Headrest / Brooklyn Steel
8/1 The National / Cooperstown
8/17 RATM / MSG
8/22 Wilco + Sleater-Kinney / Forest Hills
9/19-20 Sea Hear Now Festival (Pearl Jam) / Asbury Park

yeah... I have two shows upcoming in April both of them are in Montreal so I have no idea how that's going to work with me needing to cross the border to get to them. I think they'll be cancelled. Both bands are coming from Europe (Germany/Belgium and Sweden).

Is it going to get better by May and things will resume? I see bands tentatively not cancelling shows yet that are scheduled in May because no one knows what's going to happen.

Another one down. I’m assuming Isbell is off too, just haven’t heard for sure yet. Am I crazy for holding out hope for The National?

Oh man... I really miss live shows. It doesn't help that google gives me "remember three years ago from today?" messages.

Actually, I do like it in this case. A killer show by The Damned with the opener Bleached. April 24th, 2017.

So much for that.
