I've seen him twice (once backed by a full orchestra). Recommended.

Nom nom nom - Food Thread

Made kakeudon (かけうどん) for lunch. Decided to go a step further and make my own dashi broth with konbu (昆布) and katsuobushi (鰹節). Added a small amount of white pepper to the necessary portion of the individual bowl. Green onion (ネギ) and fishcake (かまぼこ) to top off. I know it looks very simple, but...

    What's Spinning

Nearing the end of this stack created by @TenderLovingKiller®. Arthur Russell - Another Thought [3/4] One of the most singular artists skirting lines between art pop/singer-songwriter/folk that I've come across. Arthur's use of delay with cello is astounding, forming a cavernous tunnel of...

    What's Spinning

Continuing on... Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92 [2/4] One of the greatest electronic records ever made. Certainly one of the most important.

    What's Spinning

Getting started with the stack made by @TenderLovingKiller® this past weekend. All electronic and (mostly) top50 all time... µ-Ziq - 1977 [1/4] A favorite from last year...on Balmat once again. Ambient/IDM from longstanding producer Mike Paradinas, with a focus more on the former for this...

    Make a Vinyl Stack!

I haven't forgotten about this. I'll begin and finish within sometime these four days off. Three of top50 all-time (in my amended list, assuming Another Thought was what was intended) following another favorite from last year.

    What's Spinning

Finishing out the current listening session. Thank you again @Matt M for creating this stack on Saturday. Cindy Lee - What's Tonight To Eternity [5/5] Superior Viaduct is a top5 label without a doubt for my tastes. Cindy Lee was not a group that clicked with me initially...although becoming...

    What's Spinning

Continuing from before... billy woods & Kenny Segal - Maps [4/5] One of my favorites of the decade. I've seen Woods perform three times in a live setting (twice in Armand Hammer, once with Kenny Segal), all at the same venue. He's brought it every time.

    What's Spinning

I swear I haven't forgotten about the stacks made yesterday. The cumulative effect of working long night shifts on weekends for a majority of the past six years has fucked up my circadian rhythm in the past few months (outside of vacation last month). Lucinda Chua - YIAN [3/5] One of the...

    What's Spinning

Continuing... Anagrams - Blue Voices [2/5] On a recent label that I have as pegged as a favorite. Focusing on ambient/experimental, there are reaches into jazz and electronic as well. This one leans in the ambient jazz realm and is quite comforting. I don't even mind the Americana-sounding...

    What's Spinning

Getting started with a stack created by @Matt M. Miki Matsubara (松原みき) -  Cupid [1/5] The final record I bought from Japan last month the day I boarded my plane to return to the USA. So glad I didn't let my frugality set this aside...only ¥2000 (~$13.50 USD) for this excellent condition OG...

    Make a Vinyl Stack!

Yes! I enjoy all of these quite so, with all three of the middle in my top50 last year (two in my top10)! Haven't spun the Miki yet, and Cindy Lee is a dissonant, dizzy finish. Their new record from last month is also a highlight of this year. Thank you, @Matt M!
