This has been a lesson in the importance of accurately utilizing the mechanics of written communication.
I drove 3+ hours up to Chicago today to see a matinee at Steppenwolf but got there slightly too late due to road construction and traffic. So my wife and I now find ourselves "settling" for a Robyn Hitchcock concert in a lovely little intimate theater.
On first listen, American Primitive, the latest from those old warhorses Old 97s', sure sounds like it ranks among their best records. There certainly isn't much radically new about it, but it's a very solid collection, catchy and energetic.
